MC Ren is regarded as one of the legendary rappers in NWA, but not many gave him that much attention when NWA broke up. I personally like MC Ren a lot, he's got a great rap voice & although he can't write a verse without cussing all over the place, MC Ren has a lot of great material.

The DOC, Yella and MC Ren are pretty much the forgotten members of NWA.

I can't even imagine the amount of Aftermath and Westcoast artists The DOC would have co-wrote/Ghostwritten with/for.

He's pretty underrated, though I'll admit I haven't heard more than 5 songs of his outside of his work with N.W.A.

Yeah I get that. I just group him as aprt of NWA in my head. He wrote for so many of them as far as i can remember.

Why are you comparing The D.O.C and A.P ? one was a member, and the other wasn't.. regardless if he wrote for them or not..lol

Plus I never said he wasn't "Valuable" to the group, but comparing him and AP is like comparing apples and oranges.

MC Ren is lyrically the best rapper in NWA. Always has been. He just doesn't get the recognition because (unlike Dre, Cube, and Eazy) he never had a successful solo career.

I need to go back and listen to A Villian in Black. I loved that album back in the day. Honestly one of my faves.
