Apr 18, 2017 I liked every film on those lists, except.. Transformers, Titanic, & Avatar They are both equal to me
Apr 18, 2017 James Cameron on all fronts. Writing, casting, acting, definitely visuals. Like 900x better. The things he did for the sci fi genre. Man's got Escape From New York, Aliens, Terminator, T2. even his heavily flawed s---, Titanic & Avatar especially, is redeemed by its looks. Bays s--- outside Bad Boys, The Rock, & 13 Hours is generic, cheesy, ugly garbage that aged miserably. Even the first two mentioned didn't hold up too well.
Apr 18, 2017 He did some matte paintings and was one of four different directors of photography regarding the special effects. That's John Carpenter's movie, bud.
Apr 18, 2017 whichever one made Pain & Gain? he's better hopefully he's not the one that also made Transformers because thye're awful
Apr 18, 2017 Right now, I'd say Bay. He's in his prime atm with Pain & Gain and 13 Hours. The new Transformers looks incredible, but I've still got to check out Age of Extinction, which looks promising as well. I can't say I have any interest in revisiting either of their earlier works any time soon but Terminator 2 was definitely a childhood favorite.
Apr 18, 2017 James Camron is s---. Michael Bay is one of the few directors in modern Hollywood that understands the power of the image. Pure brashness. Pain and Gain is an amazing picture. 13 Hours is basically a John Ford western(obvs not as good as even a mid tier ford but still)
Apr 18, 2017 Calling Cameron complete s--- is a bit harsh but I def agree with Bay being a misunderstood visionary.
Apr 18, 2017 Yeah, that's fair. Tbh maybe Cameron will grow on me. Bay certainly did. But the only good thing about Avatar was my brother dropping his drink cuz the 3d f----- with his vision and he couldn't find the cup holder.
Apr 18, 2017 Michael Bay is trash. The garbage that comes out of his s---...it's all special effects and no story. Transformers, all of them are garbage. At least Cameron has some all time classics. Bay, I can't say the same.
