    A lot of rappers 'retire' but I wouldn't be surprised if Maco actually does it. It's a pity coz his first tape was incredible and I think he influenced a lot of rappers since, but his career's been in absolute shambles the last few years.

    Update: Final Project to be released soon

    @Skippy in shambles

    Remember when he tried to say that OG Maco was “the leader of the new school”?

    People who retire from making music drive me crazy.
    It's music. it's passion and something that goes beyond someone's career.
    If you're not feeling it and you need time to figure out your life, then just stop doing music and do so until you find that spark again or are able to create again.

    A person who's passionate about making music would never 'quit' forever. If they do, then they were never passionate about music to begin with and did it for all the wrong reasons.
    Wouldn't be as important if this was an isolated incident. But lately Hip Hop and R&B artists keep talking about retiring and that this is their last album.
    A bunch of f---ing drama queens. I knew OG Marco from a collaboration he did with The Neighborhood in 2014, the dude barely started his career, not a single album and like 20 mixtapes and now he's retiring lmao. What an anticlimactic ending.
    Best of luck for him.

    But what about when A Tribe Called Quest said that their most recent 2016 album was their last album? They defiantly had passion.

    Even Tip said that he wasn’t gonna feature as much now either.

    It's different when it's a group of people. It's really hard to work in a band/group because there's so many opinions to consider. And Tribe has been around for 30 years and has a solid catalog.
    Retiring a group and having its members go their separate ways to explore new things is different from a dude who is 26 and hasn't even released a studio album.
    Besides after so many years, I wouldn't want to go on with a group either when one of its founding members passed away recently.

    Rap already retired from OG Maco. This the biggest non-news news since Makkonen came out of the closet.

    The way he keeps saying “OG MACO” in both those makes me feel like he’s just gonna come back with a name change. Either way never heard any of his music he must be irrelevant. No one will miss him.

    I think a lot of people, myself included, had high hopes for Maco but his career just seemed to disintegrate.

    His 2014 project 'OG Maco' was one of the hardest, weirdest, most interesting tapes I've ever heard. It's like Flockavelli on steroids. Paved the way for a lot of rappers that came after it. I'd highly recommend checking it out.
