Oct 26, 2015 Part of God's Plan: How Vince Staples and Kendrick Lamar Portray Black Faith http://m.pitchfork.com/thepitch/941...aples-and-kendrick-lamar-portray-black-faith/ Kendrick Lamar is one out of a few artists, to me, who connect with the older generation but also the younger generation, which I feel will contribute to his longevity in the game. While other artists focus on keeping up with the trends, Kendrick Lamar focuses on making good quality music (which is probably why it took him 3 years to finish "To p---- A Butterfly"). He's a trendsetter. It just sucks that some people can't appreciate the messages he's trying to give, which is having black pride, rise above the evils of this world, and believing in yourself, just to name a few. Spoiler: The Radical Christianity Of Kendrick Lamar (also an interesting article i read a little while ago. ) http://www.buzzfeed.com/reggieugwu/the-radical-christianity-of-kendrick-lamar#.mm2aYWwB90"...A righteous awakening may not make Lamar more popular in any of the spheres that would seek to contain him. Instead, it could serve to complicate and deepen his output in fascinating and unexpected ways."
