Sep 1, 2015 If you're a fan then yes. Original TWD is set after the outbreak had already spread,. This is set during the outbreak.
Sep 1, 2015 I'm really enjoying it so far tbh.. it's a different take on the story, centred around a dysfunctional family and how they experience things as society falls apart around them; the government and police are hiding how much they know about the virus in an expected way. It's nice to see how things turn to s--- while Rick remains safely in his coma
Sep 1, 2015 Idk why but this slipped my mind even though I'm a big Walking Dead fan. Finally watched episode 1 last night. It was slow, but nice to see the zombie apocalypse from a different perspective. One thing that always intrigued me is how exactly did the apocalypse start and what was life like dealing with the outbreak before Rick was in a coma.
Sep 1, 2015 How is it that in these Zombie Apocalypse shows it seems as if every character has never watched a zombie apocalypse show. TV must s--- as in that world
Sep 1, 2015 It's interesting, since there doesn't seem to be a Patient 0 at all. It seems that suddenly from one point in time, people die and the virus activates universally. Where it spreads from until this point is anyone's guess, but what's really interesting it how it spreads so god d--- quickly so that it becomes such a threat. When you think about it, hundreds upon thousands of people die every die (in hospitals, in war etc), the government must have known for a long time before FTWD E1 since that must have required plenty of covering up, so much so that seeing people in the streets as walkers is the first exposure to the pandemic any civilians have (except maybe those who "read the internet"). The spreading of this flu virus is interesting, since it's already established in S4 of TWD that it's not the flu that's the pandemic really. The virus itself doesn't cause the flu. The flu can be a mutated regular flu strain, or sudden immune attack due to the bites or injuries suffered. The virus simply remains dormant until the weakened immune system is beaten, and then activates. Just my take on things so far, anyway.
Sep 1, 2015 The writers of the comic confirmed that the original creator of zombies, George Romero, never existed in TWD universe; hence, no zombie affiliation
Sep 1, 2015 There is apparently rare, albeit very rare, occasions in the comics where characters refer to them as zombies, as apposed to walkers, roamers, biters, infected.. But these are likely just continuity errors
Sep 1, 2015 @Bleed I think the original Resident Evil movie revealed the origins of the virus if I remember correctly. Though I do not know if that counts for anything.
