Nov 20, 2015 Are we currently witnessing a GOAT with Chris Brown? I feel like if the thing with Rihanna never happened, he'd be as liked as Justin Timberlake. I don't find myself saying "This song would be better if Chris Brown wasn't in it" very often... Thoughts?
Nov 20, 2015 Him being on songs always makes it get on the radio but other than that he's nothing special
Nov 20, 2015 This. He's cool, makes some enjoyable music but he's no where near JT or even The Weeknd for that matter.
Nov 20, 2015 He's a medicore singer who follows trends instead of starting them, which is something GOATs don't really do.
Nov 20, 2015 He's a great singer who's had hits every year since 2005. If it's not his own song, or one he's written for someone else. Like I said, he's a D-Bag but he's always on a hot song or hook consistently for over 10 years in a row
Nov 20, 2015 Very true, but at the same time he's been able to do that by hopping on trends early, whether that'd be the club EDM boom, DJ Mustard boom, etc.
Nov 20, 2015 Hard to tell since it seems the Rihanna situation changed both of them as individuals and musicians. Still, I don't think he has distinguished himself as better than the likes of Usher, JT, at least not musically/sonically. I do believe he would have been liked more without the incident and he would sell more. Still, have to definitely give him props for being able to make/get on so many hits, and for being one, if not the greatest commercial dancer we've seen in our generation.
