Jan 15, 2019 Man I hope they can sign Strickland. Last I heard he was signing with WWE the same time as Trevor Lee but that was a month ago and so far Trevor announced but nothing from Shane.
Jan 15, 2019 There are so many superstars in wwe who would probably be better off here. Is AEW about to become the new TNA in terms of people jumping ship after release or contract ends? I sort of hope so.
Jan 15, 2019 Don’t really call it jumping ship after a release I can’t remember anyone like legitimately jumping ship to TNA....TNA signees were mostly over the hill midcarders, people released by wwe, or people who went on hiatus and came in for an easy paycheck
Jan 15, 2019 Christian just a midcarder who didn’t get extended Angle wasn’t allowed to wrestle for wwe cause addiction No one wanted to work for TNA over wwe lol
Jan 16, 2019 Christian may not have been a main event player but I wouldn't call him "just a mid-carder." He declined a new contract and was in TNA just over a week past his final WWE appearance.
Jan 16, 2019 Christian might literally be the only one, he was absolutely over in the WWE before he left. Realized he wasn't gonna be a top guy there and went to where he could be (and was) one. Remember, this was right when Edge was pegged to be a star and started moving up. Must have been hard for him to get left in the dust. Jeff/Rhino/Angle were all let go. Angle was a doped up bag of bones in the WWE, says a lot about TNA that they hired him and a lot about Angle that he got it together. Sting is a weird one. Very quiet guy, very loyal. I don't know how much of him never going to the WWE was about his own insecurity or drive, which others who worked with him have talked about. He's said he felt like Vince only wanted him to take away from WCW as opposed to really wanting him. Sting also only wanted to be in TNA a year or two when he decided to go, then his old WCW buddies kept showing up and he was the top guy getting the money he wanted, so why leave?
Jan 16, 2019 I don't know what special episode it was for, but my first Impact show had a barbed wire steel cage match between Rhino and Christian in the main event. On free TV. He was a draw.
Jan 17, 2019 I don't see aew being much of a threat to wwe overall. Would take many years for them to compete with wwe
Jan 18, 2019 They aren't trying to be. It's not possible for a long time and everyone involved knows that.
Jan 19, 2019 My comment was based on alot of reaction to aew from wrestling fans I have read on different wrestling sites.
Jan 19, 2019 Yeah, DDP said something about the Monday Night Wars. It's crazy what people are saying, but the excitement is a good thing. Still, depending on TV, it could be comparatively huge and absolutely competition in regards to talent, it already is.
