Mar 27, 2020 So, Obama was like Reagan? The Neoliberal US President? I thought you said Trump was like Reagan... and that was good. Do you realize you're the one in Candyland?
Mar 27, 2020 You said Reagan was a neoliberal, not me, even going so far as to say he's the only neoliberal president in history (lmfao). Can't tell if you're bad at debating or just trolling at this point. Either way you're pathetic.
Mar 27, 2020 you wont be posting here by then i suspect. also you're either way fatter than me IRL, or some scrawny weakling p----. either way youre ugly; most online alt right trolls are
Mar 27, 2020 FUMING! And loool @ calling me 'alt-right' based on my posts in here. Shows how out of touch you are.
Mar 27, 2020 not fuming, though i know that's what you're going for. just confident im superior to someone like you in every way.
Mar 28, 2020 Well it is more contagious than the flu and lasts longer and infects more people. The hospitalisation rate is higher. The global death rate is currently at 4% I think but scientists believe it will end up settling to 1 or 2 %. Maybe a bit higher or lower but either way it will be higher than the flu's 0.1% death rate. Numbers change since it's just happening but it's worse than the flu for sure. Also bear in mind the current hospitalisations and deaths are happening with all the worldwide shutdowns and quarantine. They'd be stupid high if we just let it do it's thing like we do with the flu It's not just because we don't have vaccines and aren't immunised yet. The virus itself is more aggressive than the flu and particularly more resistant to immune systems. Even with vaccines and all, if you're old or immunocompromised you'd still rather have the flu than coronavirus. It's also killing more 50 to 60 year olds than the flu and hospitalising even more. "Underlying conditions" doesn't mean already dying or bed ridden. It's anything from simply hypertension or asthma or smokers or diabetes or fat a----s. In fact how many Americans DON'T have some underlying condition? Fact is it's worse enough than the flu in that it will k--- people who otherwise wouldn't have died from the flu So when you say millions die from the flu each year, that doesn't change the fact that coronavirus can be adding millions more to that list. So I don't see the point of that argument Besides no one is saying this will be the new plague and wipe out half the word or whatever. The panic isn't about extinction it's because even 1% dying within a short period is still something hospitals can't handle. And 1% is the good case scenario it can end up being 2 or 3% in some places. That's the death rate but the hospitalisation rate itself is an even more r-----ed amount that would completely overwhelm hospitals which it's already doing even with the shutdowns. Hence the situation we're in now to isolate people to try slow the infection rate to a manageable rate. Shutdowns and lock downs are the main concern for most people. It's economically devastating the longer we stay in these shutdowns. No economy can handle this for too long. It actually makes you wonder how long the governments of the world are willing to let the economy burn until they have to make a decision between the economy and everyone's livelihood or corona patients
Mar 28, 2020 What’s really going unmentioned in the midst of this pandemic is that one of the consequences of climate change is more rampant spread of infectious diseases. Lockdowns like we’re experiencing right now across the world could become the norm.
Mar 28, 2020 Makes you think how much longer capitalism, at least in its current form, is going to be a feasible way to organize economies. If entire sectors of the economy have to be shutdown every year or every other year even—it’s not going to be efficient.
Mar 28, 2020 Capitalism is not a problem, globalism is and it seems like you don't have any problem with it.
Mar 28, 2020 Never said capitalism was the problem (but you can def make a valid argument on that behalf). I said our current economic system is unsustainable if these lockdowns become the norm. That’s just a fact. Unless you’re content with yearly recessions.
Mar 29, 2020 definitely no evidence at all that these lock downs will become “the norm” though. maybe more common than they have been ?
Mar 29, 2020 Mosquitos are the most common vector for various infectious diseases. Mosquitoes live in warmer climates & with climate change warming the earth as a whole, it’ll allow mosquitos to migrate to regions of the world they wouldn’t typically migrate to. There’s already been evidence of this in regions in Asia & Africa. Lockdowns like this will undoubtedly become the norm if we continue down this current path. https://blogs.ei.columbia.edu/2014/09/04/how-climate-change-is-exacerbating-the-spread-of-disease/
