Jul 10, 2020 i don’t like this as much as his last album, this feels a little lifeless. plus what in the f--- was that outro
Jul 10, 2020 I'm not feeling this album, the way he sings on most of the tracks seems forced and unenjoyable for me. I did like 5 tracks that I saved in my playlist : Fighting Deamons, Hate The Other side, Conversations, Life's a mess and Righteous.
Jul 10, 2020 Who was the other one? I didn't like that Pop Smoke album. Not a fan of the raspy voice...
Jul 10, 2020 Maybe it's just me but I think it's crazy to write off an album and decide which songs you like that quickly. Always takes at least a few listens for me to cement the standouts. However, my reaction from my first listen is that there's some phenomenal stuff here, but it gets a little same-y at times. Too many songs, but that's par for the course for a lot of projects now. DRFL was long but there was a lot of variety in there. Gonna have to give this some more spins. Better than GB&GR, not as good as DRFL is my thoughts for now.
Jul 10, 2020 I think you are probably right. Very hard for it to be as good as Death Race when large parts of the album are thrown together most likely.
Jul 10, 2020 I 100% agree with what you're saying, I will definetly play the album more times, but on most of the songs he had some chopped up vocals not so smooth and I really struggle finishing those tracks, yet again it's just a personal preference maybe others enjoy it.
Jul 10, 2020 I know u didn't mean it the way this reads lol But I agree I do like it , but prefer his last album
Jul 10, 2020 I wouldn’t say it’s thrown together, cuz juice has a massive vault and there’s barely any features on there so it’s not like they had to pad it. It’s just that you really can’t replicate the direction of the artist themselves...when artists start putting together an album and turn a bunch of loose songs into something tangible, there’s always songs that come together during crunch time once they start figuring out the theme and such. And I’m sure there’s songs on here he wanted on there 100%, but there’s no way to know for sure what he did and didn’t want on it unless they heard it straight from him before he passed. They said he was well into recording for his next album, but I doubt he was in the process of sequencing and stuff already simply because he recorded SO much music. The amount of songs that have leaked since he died is insane. I’d say Mac’s album is about as close as you can get to a perfect posthumous album.
