How tf do rappers be writing and recording a whole a--- 20+ songs each album? Am I not cut out for this lol

Sometimes I question so much what rappers even rap about and overthink it to the point where I don’t know where to start, though I might be fine doing 10-15 songs each album and having less filler than said rappers

I think 12 is the perfect number. Gone are the days where 16+ track albums are normal.

EP is safest bet imo - quality over quantity.

Can we hear a song of yours?

As for the number of tracks, I think less would be better. I would stick to the ones you think are the best. It really depends on much you have. 10-12 seems like a good number. You could also condense it to 8 if you really want people to hear the best materiel. There's no right answer. But I would avoid going over 15.

14 is the only correct number. It's long enough to make it enjoyable, but short enough not to have filler songs. With albums that are 12 tracks or less I always have the feeling that they end too early.

I like the idea of a solid 8-track EP as an initial release

Nobody's trying to dive into a 19-track mid fest

Drop a lil EP, show your potential, listen to constructive criticism, 12-track follow up, debut #1 on the charts, develop a drug habit, struggle with your sophomore release, continue abusing drugs with little to no means of affording the habit, file for bankruptcy, rob your loved ones, resort to m---, realize you've hit rock bottom, release an experimental rock album (flop), hiatus for three years, THEN come back with a polished 18-track album.

The whole process is pretty easy imo
