Dec 20, 2020 Lil Wayne has reportedly sold the Young Money catalog which includes Drake & Nicki Minaj masters to Univeral Music Group for $100 million. https://hiphopdx.com/news/id.59601/...m-in-june-including-nicki-minaj-drake-masters
Dec 20, 2020 Also his Lawyer is suing him for 20% for failing to honor an oral agreement to pay him a 10 percent share lol.
Dec 20, 2020 Is this 2008-2020 everything released by Young Money including those 3 artists and more? If yes, he has been lowballed imo and yes 100 million is huge, but the catalogue is bigger
Dec 20, 2020 Yup. It's everything Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga have released. And whoever else was on Young Money. It's a little confusing whether it includes his own masters. Every site says he sold his masters and the entire Young Money catalog but for some reason here it says not his own. "New information from Ron Sweeney's lawsuit clarifies that Lil Wayne was able to sell the entire Young Money catalog -- not his own -- which includes songs and albums from Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and more, in the $100 million deal." https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.hotnewhiphop.com/lil-waynes-masters-sale-involves-drake-and-nicki-minaj-too-report-news.123085.html?_amp?espv=1
Dec 20, 2020 I don't know all the ins and outs of American law, but over here an oral agreement is as lawful as a written one, so I can understand the ordeal.
Dec 21, 2020 Well that's stupid. It's basically your word vs his. Plus, how can can oral agreement even be proven unless it's been recorded?
