Mar 2, 2021 President Biden is ending the pandemic... Republican governors are trying to keep it going.
Mar 5, 2021 Joe Manchin being Joe Manchin. It’s frustrating but that’s the reality of a 50 seat majority senate. Hoping the WH + Democratic leadership can work out a deal to get his vote back.
Mar 5, 2021 if he works with the republicans on any 51-49 legislation, he needs to be formally censured. Ridiculous.
Mar 5, 2021 Meh...it’s just a reality Dems are going to have to live with for now. If we don’t want to deal with Manchin, we need to win 2 more seats in 2022. Apparently GOP is down a vote now because one of their senators has left!
Mar 6, 2021 Biden’s been as dogshit as basically everyone predicted he’d be, but there’s been a few really good moves mixed in with it. His banning of privately owned federal prisons deserves way more credit than it’s getting, can’t believe I only heard about this today https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1255776
Mar 6, 2021 He did that the first week he was President. He did it at the same point of his Presidency as when Trump was forcing all his allies to lie and say there was more attendees at his inauguration than at Obama's 2009 inauguration.
Mar 6, 2021 great news for Dems senate 2022 hopes if true. millions of Americans are about to receive extended unemployment benefits & $1400 checks that they otherwise wouldn’t have gotten if biden lost; there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel re: the pandemic because of vaccination efforts.
Mar 6, 2021 so the senate passed the 1.9 trillion co-vid relief bill but i've read some comments that in the long-run this is really bad for the economy could you guys shed some light on this for me?
Mar 6, 2021 its increasing the federal deficit but anyone who is arguing that the long term economic risks of providing necessary financial assistance to working class people during a pandemic outweighs the pros is just lying to you. This funding is necessary not only to provide families who’ve been laid off/can’t work etc. but also provides funding for schools to safely reopen & vaccination efforts. It’s just necessary if we want to get through this pandemic.
Mar 6, 2021 Yes the things you mentioned are nesescery to people who need it. What about the rest of the bill that has nothing to do with covid? Which is probaly the majority of it.
Mar 6, 2021 side note: Cuomo is piece of s--- & should step down. Ridiculous how long all this conduct has gone on for.
