May 23, 2024 are you a big fan of the Scream movies? I'm asking since New nightmare was like a prototype right?
May 23, 2024 Definitely. By far my favorite franchise since all the other 'big' ones have some bad movies. To me Scream doesn't. But yeah I think NN is very creative bringing Freddy into the real world. Also think its the creepiest one. Freddy is scarier imo, especially compared to later movies where (5-6) he's turned into a clown lol. Also yeah Heather does a perfect job and the kid too. Perfect movie. Part 3 and 1 are close though, fvsj cool and the rest is kinda meh to me. While we're at it, scream movie rank?
May 23, 2024 Yeah, they made Freddy scary again in such a way that I could never tell there're only like 3 kills in the entire movie. Agree on Scream, I wouldn't say it's my favorite franchise but it's definitely the most consistent quality wise, I'd have to rewatch some of them to do a ranking rn and I don't wanna just bs my way through it lol

May 23, 2024 True it relies much more on a creepy vibe than actual violence (mostly) which is what I prefer. Well, mostly at least, Halloween kills was mostly just about violence and I love it but yeah. I don't think I'd pick Scream franchise over Halloween overall but if I'd rate them all its probably my favorite based on the sum of its parts. And because its one consistent story (with different storylines ofc). Not with different timelines and s--- like Friday 13th, Halloween etc.

May 30, 2024 Idc either way tbh, I'm just glad Mike Flanagan is getting his shot cause he seems like a really good fit potentially. I really like David Gordon Green as well but making The Exorcist was obviously not a fun time for him so I hope he can do something else that's better for him, his TV shows with Danny McBride are great.
May 30, 2024 IN A VIOLENT NATURE…WOW! Gave it 4 and a half stars. Absolutely loved it. If you’re a gore hound, go see it. It’s not Terrifier franchise level, but it’s pretty d--- good. Practical effects on top. The very start is a bit slow and the ending is meh but everything in between, fantastic. Definitely recommend if you can go see it! It felt like if F13 Parts 1-4 were made in the modern day and followed Jason around with no MPAA cockblocks.
May 31, 2024 I think Believer had some strong parts but imo so many pointless s--- like that godawful neigbour woman. The monologues were so cringy lol The actual scary stuff was cool but imo it should have been more than what they did.

May 31, 2024 How you been Solo? I just went and saw this last weekend. While it was much better than Prey at Night imo it went too far into being a beat for beat remake of the OG. That being said I am interested to see Chapter 2 to see what they do because with where they left off that could be very f---ing cool or total s--- lol
