Senim Silla - The Name, the Motto, the Outcome Review:

This was another artist and album I’d never heard before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. It ended up being a smooth, easy listen from start to finish. Underground conscious hip-hop isn’t usually my preferred lane so it’s probably not something I’d play all the time, but I still appreciated it for what it was. Overall, it’s a solid hip-hop album and definitely a good listen.

    8/10

Favorite tracks: V for Vesper, Brothers Killed Malcolm, Less than Capital

    review

I’ve never really heard of this artist before so that made going into this album very exciting. I’ve recently only had time to play music during gym, and I gotta say; pairing my workouts with these underground, jazzy and at times soulfull hip hop tunes went much better than you’d expect.

I had a ton of fun with this record. The whole thing is very well made and engaging to listen to. I’m happy to report that not only did I save a ton of these tracks, but there weren’t really any bad songs on here either.

Some of my favorites include: V for Vesper, Less Than Capital (this s--- is fire), The Awakening (love, love, love it), and Breaking the Law.

    8.5/10

You know when you’re first starting gym it makes sense to play the heaviest s--- you can get your hands on… but as you keep going you find yourself at the pec deck blasting midwest emo wondering what the f--- happened and why this is doing more for you than 50’s Many Men ever did lool.

First time hearing this guy and yeah… this is NOT an easy entry point. This album feels like you just walked into the middle of someone’s long monologue.

Production is dusty, lo-fi, kinda raw. Has that old underground feel, but not in a nostalgic way, more like it just never adapted. Works for the vibe though.

Lyrically he’s questioning/touching on a lot of topics frequently. Political, personal, philosophical… but it can get overwhelming fast. Not many standout punchlines or hooks to grab onto, it’s more about the overall message than moments.

That said, it’s consistent. Not a lot of obvious filler, just dense all the way through. You either lock in or it loses you.

    Favourite tracks:
    • Keep It Coming
    • Less Than Capital
    • The Awakening
    • Brothers Killed Malcolm
    • Rear Window
    • Wild Life
    Least favourite:
    • Intro
    • A Light to One’s Self (Interlude)
    • The Violence Inherent in the System (Interlude)
    • Outro
    • Yeah
    • For The Record
    • I Hate Him
Overall, it’s more about ideas and consistency than standout songs. Respect it more than I actually enjoy it, but I can see it landing harder if you’re already familiar with his work.

    6.5/10 @AOTWClub

Since we're on the gym topic, I think the best pump I've ever gotten came from bumping Revengeseekerz lmao
