So far it's been pretty good. Very busy but I don't see that as a bad thing. Second half I hope is gonna be like the first, I'd be happy.

Was going great until I broke 2 of my fingers 3 days ago. It’s weird because it was only about 2 weeks ago I was discussing with friends about parts of our body we had broken and how I’d never broken anything in my life.

Guess that’s what happens when you start putting stuff like that into the universe. Always humbles you.

2026 has been cold and snowy. Record snowfall where I live since January; had to pay close to 2k to have almost 4 feet of snow shoveled off the roof in January. My 19 yo cat got sicker and died in Feb/March, in the middle of the worst snowstorm of the winter and the vet couldn’t get here and I couldn’t get there… had to wait 2 days for her to come here to give my grrrl a shot, but I was able to keep her comfortable with pain meds. RIP, Squirrel.

2 weeks ago it snowed some more. I had a work schedule in the fall and winter that I detested annd which almost did me in. The load lightened a bit at the end of April but I’m just now starting to feel normal.

I have a great vacation coming soon though, so looking forward to that a lot. I hope the rest of the year just slows down a little. I do not require this level of excitement.

On the plus side, my stalker seems to have found other s--- to disturb than mine, so that’s a serious bonus.

it’s good to hear so many people are doing well and/or actively improving. @Spatula hope you’re still on the upswing too

Explain wtf that means or is please Marsh.

If you use the words “Sup” or “s---” in your reply then it means you’re a s--- skinned inbred Andorran bum that has sexual relations with his 23 cousins that all live in the same 2 bedroom shack as you.

Being busy can be good depending on what you’re doing. I’ve learned it’s all about momentum. Once you do something to get that ball rolling, even if it’s small, it can really make a difference. If you just keep that momentum up a little bit day by day, you can really make great progress with whatever you’re doing.
Yeah I’m also a believer of being careful about what you put into the universe. It’s part of the reason why I don’t like wishing death upon people. Things like this have happened to me before but to a much lesser extent, like when I said I never drop my phone only to drop my phone not too long afterwards. I’ve heard broken fingers s--- and can take a while to heal depending on what exactly you broke in the finger. For the record I’ve never broken any body parts either. Hopefully my fingers don’t break now.
Can’t remember what part of the US it was but yeah I kept hearing it was snowing like crazy even when it wasn’t supposed to. I f---ing hate snow

I’m a workaholic, it keeps my mind from going off the rails. I could just be sitting and then suddenly I have to write down a thousand bars. The mind of a genius, my mom use to say. Till I grew up and read it’s called being autistic.

True. If you're busy with stuff that costs energy it can truly drain you. But for me it's stuff like sports, bbq's/parties/drinks w friends / visiting football games etc. So all (or mostly) fun s---.

Sometimes a day having nothing to do is great as well though. Last sunday and monday spent the entire day outside in the sun listening to music.

Having periods where you have nothing to do and are bored are important as well. Too many people these days try to avoid boredom at all costs but it’s actually good for the brain sometimes.

Just reading this exhausts me. That’s a year’s social interaction for a hardcore introvert.

Kudos. I don’t know how people can possibly interact this much on purpose

I'm just an extreme introvert. Every type of in-person social interaction takes lot of energy and drains me for days. That probably sounds melodramatic to an extrovert, and to me you sound a bit extroverted bc you describe things I would actively avoid as "fun".

It's just how my reserves work. It can be horribly inconvenient... I was my sister's maid of honor and had to do the bridesmaids' weekend party planning thing, coordinating with all these women I did not know for weeks and months before the wedding, then spend 4 days with them in this isolated cabin. It wiped
    me out for weeks.

I've always been weird this way, and i'm aware it's kind of abnormal. I don't mind my inner circle so much -- husband & sister & sometimes my mom -- but I also need them not to be around.

I spend a lot of time by myself. I need the solitude.

Haha it's kinda funny my post makes me seem like an extreme extrovert (which can also mean something different for everyone) because I'm not at all.

I love having days by myself. I'm never bored and just sitting outside with music or watching Netflix all day during colder days is fine by me.

    The stuff I mentioned;

    - sports is mostly me running by myself and playing football with a small team
    - the bbq's is mostly with a small group of friends or family just like dinner parties / terrace
    - yes going to a football game is with 60.000 other people but after a day in Amsterdam (which I love) I'm very happy I'm back in the small town I live in

So yeah I do like social occassions but not with a lot of people at once. That totally drains me as well. I like having conversations with a few people.

This kinda puts it a bit in perspective even if I still might be more extrovert than you are :emoji_wink:

Which isn't right or wrong of course.

I honestly don't think the way you described yourself is strange at all. Spending a weekend in one place with 4 strangers I would go home after maybe one day lmao. I need time by myself as well .. a night with people I love, but then I need to go home. And family, can be great but they need to f--- off at times too, totally understandable!

That's really nice to hear, thank
    you

Parts of my family think I'm pathological... except for my mom, who's the same as me. Do you hide when the doorbell rings?(If it's a delivery I'm expecting I'll answer it. If it's someone I know and I'm not expecting them, I usually won't.)

I like running too, great private time. Races were a headache because of the crowds but for the run I'd do it anyway. Do you do any distance?

When I was a kid I was actively punished at my dad's for wanting to be by myself. He took BOOKS away from me, ffs, because they were "isolating." Wouldn't let me go into my own room because I spent too much time by myself.

Now I don't have to come out, ha.
Covid social distancing was just fine by me
