Don’t know how many times I gotta say this to get it through your f---ing midget skull. The MCU declined was because of surplus of content due to the Disney+ mandate by bob chapek. The pandemic, Jonathan Majors assault case, and writers & Actors strike affected the MCU narrative. They didn’t know a global pandemic was gonna alter thier entire franchise. Eternals, black widow, Shang chi and No way home quality was literally no different the. Any other marvel movie. People pick out scenes like Yelena cgi jump as a sign of quality being lost. But that was one scene out of a 2 hour movie that had great cinematography and action. People say Shang chi and Eternals flop…. Which isn’t true either. They broke even just didn’t make much profit…. Because this was literally in the middle of a global pandemic where 40% of theaters were not accessible. Spider-Man was an outlier because it was literally f---ing Spider-Man Event film. :emoji_laughing: No s---. It was gonna make a billion.
But if you actually go back to 2021 and see that every movie was hardly making $400M other then marvel.

the quality decline s--- is also over exaggerated since wandavision and Loki are still the best looking and written shows in the MCU. Multiverse of madness was way bigger than the first doctor strange. Wakanda Forever was a critical and commercial smash movie. Thor was the only bad MCU movie then, and it still was a major hit. It wasn’t till 2023 when quantumania dropped when we start to see the cracks of marvels Kang storyline seemingly have a weird direction and didn’t move the general public because then they were wanting avengers back. The new hero’s were not connecting, and that’s marvels fault for waiting so long to do anything with the heros that were popping, specifically Wanda. Wanda should have been in the marvels since it was a girl power movie and she literally lives in the same city as Kamala. WestView New Jersey is right next to ms marvels home. :currydead:
Marvel had so many opportunities to connect the bangles, Shang chi’s rings, Wanda’s Hex and the TVA from Loki. It was all right there, but they were taking thier sweet f---ing time and that’s why people started to lose interest on what was going on. The marvels, Captain America and thunderbolts should have happen years ago. The pandemic pushed all of phase 4 & 5 projects 2 years back. By 2023 when the marvels came out, they realize they had to pull out thier Gold Card…. That’s the X-Men. That’s why they only had Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024 because they knew they had to restructure the entire game. And why that summer they announced RDJ as doom for reassurance. That one move saved Doomsday from flopping. And all this nostalgia baiting and going back to what worked is marvel admitting that the audience and fans can’t move on. They don’t want to. Even if new stuff is good and refreshing, it will never compare to the infinity saga. This is what the casuals want, that’s why they are playing the hits and being safe by only promoting Steve and RDJ and Thor as the face of the film, even tho we know the movie is actually about the new avengers and X-Men

Point is, Marvel dropping so much content without an actual through line story was the core problem this whole time. Loki’s story should have been in the movies, as well as Wanda’s. They are the true protagonist of this saga, but since they were in tv thier audience is obviously cut in half. Most people watch the MCU for the movies.

this is why I hope they learn thier lesson for the mutant saga and keep the big arc moving stuff for the cinemas, and have the side characters doing street s--- on Disney+

Finally got around to watching episode 1 of Spider-Noir. I’m enjoying it so far, more than I thought I would at least! And of course I watched it in black & white.
