Jun 1, 2015 @M Solo does this show maintain its creative and critical directions? I've been looking to get into it but I'm not sure if I want to invest in something that is falling off in later seasons
Jun 1, 2015 I love it. I think it's a tier below The Wire and BB but I think it's a pretty incredible show nonetheless. And that's coming from somebody who's never been into fantasy stuff(LOTR)
Jun 1, 2015 Hmm..thanks for the insight, I've been looking at it for a year or so debating on it and a couple others. Mostly boardwalk empire and some other ones that are escaping me at present moment.
Jun 1, 2015 The ice army is slacking in the archery department. Could really have come in handy in that last scene. On another note, Walking Dead this is how you do zombie scenes.
Jun 1, 2015 Same, I've never been into anything like this, hate Lord of the Rings and fully expected to hate GOT but it's up there with my favorite shows now. Agree it will never touch The Wire or BB though.
Jun 2, 2015 My goodness that episode. The stare down at the end was magnificent. If episode 9 is supposed to be the most impactful and best episode of the season, I'm not sure it can top episode 8 at this point.
Jun 2, 2015 How did Snow get Valyrian Steel? I thought Ned had the last sword of it's kind and turned into two, giving one to Joffrey and another to Jamie. Is that correct?
Jun 2, 2015 There is still some Valyrian Steel around, not a lot though. Jeor Mormont gave the sword to Jon a few seasons back I think. Jamie gave his sword to Brienne, btw.
Jun 2, 2015 So the ending was sick, but no love for the khaleesi and tyrion dialogue? Danerys saying she will break the wheel was probably the best quotable of the season so far
Jun 2, 2015 In Season 1, Jon saved Jeor Mormont (the previous Night's Watch Lord Commander and Jorah's father) from being attacked by a wight. As a reward, Jeor gave Jon, Longclaw, the Mormont family Valyrian sword. He also changed the handle a bit to look more like a wolf because it was originally made to look like a bear (the Mormont sigil). The sword was originally given to Jorah but after he was caught selling slaves he went on the lam but left the family sword behind out of respect for his father. Sam's family also have a Valyrian sword called Heartsbane.
Jun 2, 2015 Depends. Close quarters combat, a Valyrian sword would be best. At long distance, dragonglass arrows would work. But wights can survive Valyrian steel and dragonglass attacks. So, overall, the best weapon would be dragons. Fire kills wights and it's assumed that dragonfire can k--- White Walkers. Plus you have the advantage attacking from the sky.
Jun 2, 2015 Ahhhh, so I can kind of guess where this is going then. Maybe Danerys can "break the wheel" if she can control her dragons.
