some rappers can be hard to listen to, e.g thug, ---, g-herbo etc- but there are others that are in the 'Green Zone', who you can listen to any time and in any situation.

For me, Wale and Drake are two rappers that when I'm not sure what to play I'll put on. My taste in music is highly black and ignorant so i often think twice about playing most of my stuff around other people. While neither are really top 10 rappers for me, i find my self playing them more than some of my favorites - both make diverse range of music and are easy to listen to, even for someone not into rap.

Anyone else feel the same way about a particular artist?

the uh... 'Green Zone', changes depending entirely on who I'm around. There's not rly a specific set of rappers I could comfortably listen to around everyone

This is actually pretty true of playing music in general tbh. I always have to switch up what I play depending on the people around me, lest they get pissy about hearing something from a genre or artist they're not a fan of or unfamiliar with.

    A$AP Rocky
    Lil Uzi Vert
    Drake

Really is less about the rapper and more about the song you're playing. Just play music from popular artists and songs on the hot 100. Or play songs from an artist that's sonically and lyrically similar to the ones playing on popular music stations.

He's boring. I don't even hate Wale like that but the dude's music is the definition of bland.

While hes not a charismatic rapper, i think the wale is boring thing, for the most part, is a bandwagon- his discog has plenty of depth and diversity to keep me interested.

    Isaiah Rashad
    Kendrick
    J Cole
    Joey Badass
    Action Bronson

Those are some good mainstreamish choices

    Earl Sweatshirt
    Danny Brown
Chance the Rapper (his non-gospel tracks)
    RTJ

These might work too if they're familiar with these artists.

Danny Brown is like my favorite but he can definitely be hard to listen to, especially his recent stuff off AE.
