I can't help but think that they should have used 'Like Home' as the lead single of the album, and followed it up with 'River' as the preorder/2nd single.

'Walk on Water' is a f--- up in my opinion, and doesn't fit the album AT ALL! In actual fact, I forgot it even existed. Furthermore, 'Untouchable' should've just been a track on the album and nothing more.

I agree with @Carnifex , something happened. They trolled us so hard with the drug campaigns, Dr Dre etc.

I like the album, a lot! But we waited 4 years for this thing... And I want my 2 Chainz!

    Not a chance.

Maybe a different singles rollout could have affected 1st week sales a bit...

But the reviews are a result of the album itself. So the rollout is irrelevant.

The reviews are all on-point in that the album is confused and a mess.

I'm gonna change the thread title, I am referring to first week sales performance. Completely agree on the review aspect.

    Sales wise yeah sure.

If his singles were like Believe + River. I would've thought Em is going for a mostly trap modern sounding album and threw River on to have a hit (Almost like why Beautiful is on Relapse/ Lighters on h--- the Sequel etc). Especially with videos upping the promotion. Not sure what numbers he would've done but off of that alone I would've expected at least 500k.

Album reception nah, if anything, it's less s--- than I expected because my expectations were so low, if we had Believe out or Chloraseptic I would've believed we will have an album of a decent quality coming.
