Sorry if this belongs in the film forum instead.

Anyway, I think this looks interesting. Why do they always get skinny guys to play Dre tho?

^Yeah, I heard, but Michel'le says she has people who can testify to witnessing Dre beating her. One of them being D.O.C.

I saw a s-----y version on YouTube. I knew Dre was a woman beater, but watching it dramatized makes me lose a lot of respect for him. Suge was a saint compared to him.

They portrayed Jerry Heller in a much better light than they did in Straight Outta Compton.

I saw this through Xfinity on demand a weekend or 2 ago. Shame on me that I never knew about Michele's "voice" as I had never heard her actually talk before. Like, wow....I mean, really, wow. The movie was a bit of a chore to get through on the basis of her voice alone.

The actual movie, felt like a cheaply made, poor man's rendition of SoC from last year, in terms of production values. It feels like the only reason this movie was even made was to antagonize Dre. Like, the only purpose of the movie was to show Dre as this uncontrollable woman beater.

He was portrayed as this out of control, drunk, angry thug who put more effort into intimidating and beating her than to his music. All of the music-related parts of the story - NWA coming up, interactions with other group members and Jerry Heller, etc - were just background elements.

The fact they got Jamie Kennedy to play Jerry Heller was laughable. The same actor who played Suge in SoC last year, played him again here. The actor did alright, but Suge wasn't even much of a factor until the last third of the movie.

At the end of the day, I obviously have no idea to what extent the portrayals were accurate or not. Dre was an uncontrollable drunkard of a wife beater, and Suge was a master manipulator and intimidater. Michel'le was an innocent victim, who ultimately survived her treacherous relationships. Exaggerated? Perhaps....hyperbolic? Almost certainly.

lol this needs to become more popular than Straight Outta Compton...

even if this version shows a lot of truth behind Dre, I think he will be alright lol

unfortunately Dre has the most money out of all of them and will use his lawyers to f--- them up

I mean, she is not the only woman who claims that Dre beat her up. Dee Barnes rings a bell? I think it is fair to do a film like this.
