So one of my clients computers crashed, or at least it looks like that. This is what the screen looks like. Anyone know what the f--- this means? Tried different monitors by the way so it's not that.

looks like a graphic card problem. Turn off computer, remove monitor cord from computer and reattach. If you can remove from monitor end do it also, and reattach.

Patti Mayonnaise with the helpful post...so she's in another state and I help them out remotely. I know she disconnected the monitor already and tried another one and it was the same thing.

If this does not end problem, the video card is not making firm connection into motherboard. Turn off computer, remove case cover, and locate video graphics card. It is the one that cord from monitor goes into. Remove monitor card from video card. Remove screw (on inside back of computer) that hold video card in. Remove video card and reinsert firmly. Screw retaining screw in firmly and reattach monitor cord. Replace case cover and you should be back in business.

I highly doubt they would use graphics card in work pc's.. most likely integrated graphics.

@Worm did you get it sorted?

Nah they're in Utah and barely know how to refresh a browser so they're gonna send it to us to look at but we don't fix computers so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when I get it. She has locally saved files she ends to retrieve even though we set them up with one drive and told them to only use that... Pain in the a---

I'm not too sure tbh, I don't deal with hardware all that much, but knowing people its probably something very easy to fix.

That's what I was thinking...would be a waste to ship it to me. I feel like it's one of those things where I just have to b--- on it like the Fonz and it will work or it's just done

Quick google search shows dead GPU results, but maybe something is just loose on the motherboard. Its hard to tell over the internet tbh

In my opinion that looks like a graphics card problem, and if its integrated and not a card itself it may be the GPU chip on the mobo is dead. One of the two, but trying with a different monitor and yielding same results looks like a dead GPU integrated or not. Could even be the port itself but kinda doubt it. Regardless their data wont be affected. Only way to REALLY know is to throw in a separate video card and plug it in and see if u get a screen.
