Oct 8, 2017 This is another analytical Coco thread, using facts, statistics and scientific analysis that is often not used by the rap community at large, to determine objective historical impacts of rappers. Now, i hate to start this thread off with such a brainlet topic... but "mumble rap". This is the current trend of hip hop at the moment, whether you like it or not. Maybe you are a listener of 21 savage and people say to you in public "lol you listen to mumble rap log out b----" so you retort like "excuse me, i think you mean superior lyrically excercised poems prolapsed from an artists mouth. mumble rap is not real" whatever stance you take, we can all agree this is a blanket term and we all get a visually similar image of different rappers when some fa---- says "u lik mumbel rep lawlecksdee" what if I told you though, this trend was started by someone well respected by the entire population? and in such a way, it has been overlooked? Until now... Spoiler: The first mumble rapper ever 50. f---ing. cent. the man, myth and GOAT himself pioneered and perfected this craft. As most would know, 50 was shot 9 times without being made dead. that is an incredible feat in itself, but what people don't know is that some of the bullets/bullet fragments completely f----- his jaw. kanye spat through the wire, while 50 cent ripped out the wire to rap good and not s--- like kanye (hes a non-GOAT for those unfamiliar with Kanye) but unfortunately for GC (gangsta curtis) instead of sounding like s--- rapping through wire, he sounded like he was mumbling his raps or at best slurring his speech. So what does a GOAT in this position do? he raps like he normally would and even adds emphasis using his slur, or mumbled speech. Now fast forward 20 years later and all the current "new hot with the wave trendy" artists are mumbling. If it wasn't for 50 cent your favourite artist wouldnt exist
Oct 8, 2017 fail to see how discussing a rapper and rap history on a rap forum is a meme. I mean I could be wrong, lately this site has felt more as if it were a forum centered around discussing verbal linguistics and rapists. which is why i made this thread, try put the derailed train of content throughout the site back on the topic of rap
