Jun 12, 2021 So I was just relistening to this album and i'm still surprised at how f---ing good it is. One of my favorite albums and one of those albums that I always go back to every few years. As good as Trap Muzik, Urban Legend and King were, Paper Trail was the peak of T.I.'s career imo. Just wanted to get y'all thoughts on this album because I might be a little biased. #1 song on the album imo is Ready For Whatever. I really liked what he was saying in this song. Just some real personal s---. Spoiler: Highlights He just snapped on this one. Great opening track. Nice collab with some heavy hitters. Of course some big hits I could honestly list the whole album because I like it front 2 back besides 2 songs that I might skip.
Jun 12, 2021 I'm half way through Trap Musik now. What an amazing album also. But that could be for another day.
Jun 12, 2021 Last really great T.I. album. He’s made some cool stuff since, but this was the end of his prime.
Jun 12, 2021 Rappin for the h--- of it Hella rich Never have to sell a brick again CERTIFIED CLASSIC ALBUM
Jun 12, 2021 Forgot to add this one as one of the big hits. How many hits have rappers had with Rihanna? Must be a dozen at least. This was probably one of the earlier ones before every big rapper had Rihanna on their hit songs.
Jun 12, 2021 2008 was a pretty good year, you already made a thread about Carter 3, but we also got Untitled 808s & Heartbreaks The Recession LAX Theater Of The Mind Pretty good year for rap
Jun 12, 2021 She pretty much kills it everytime. She killed her feats with Em, Drake, T.I., Jeezy, NERD, Kanye, Jay, Future, Nicki, Kendrick. Same with popstars.
Jun 12, 2021 Haha for sure, man. I was thinking about making a thread earlier "Best songs of 2008" after listening to Put On from Young Jeezy. Kanye's part was absolutely perfect. Rick Ross had an album too that year. Although not his best he had some big hits. Three 6 Mafia too. It's hard to compete with Wayne tho. He was really dominating that year and time period.
Jun 12, 2021 very good album. very influential as well. Both Blueprint 3 & Recovery were heavily influenced by it with the Pop/rap singles
Jun 12, 2021 Cube also dropped. Even G-Unit, but it wasn't as good as their debut. Yeah, Wayne ran 2008. My Life, Game's Pain, Dope Boyz and Lollipop are my favorite songs from that year.
Jun 12, 2021 Akon had his biggest year in 2008 too with Freedom. He had massive hits. When you think about it, it was a helluva year. It's nice to see you mention LAX. Such an underrated album.
