He brings the dust head out in me. Forgot how much I missed the NY accent. Influenced by the likes of AZ and Ghostface. He released FLYGOD and a collab type with his dude Conway earlier this year. Just found out he released a little EP on DatPiff a few years ago. Been listening to that.

Reminds me a bit of Roc Marciano. I dig the songs that I've heard. Didn't know Buffalo got down like that.

Why is there like zero talent coming out of NYC? Figure you'd know if anybody.

Been one of the best rappers this year.

Westside Gunn, Roc Marci, Conway, Your Old Droog, Mach Hommy, Mayhem Lauren, Hus Kingpin all killing it in that lane.

Buffalo is part of Upstate NY, it's not part of NYC. You don't hear about many artists coming out of that area.

Sure, but he's clearly emulating rappers from the burroughs. I just mean the whole state is so sparse compared to other hotspots. What happened?

Things seemed headed in a good direction from about 2010-2014. There was a nice combination of up and coming artists (ASAP Rocky, Action Bronson, Joey Badass, Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, Homeboy Sandman, The Doppelgangaz, Flatbush Zombies, Your Old Droog, Bodega Bamz, YC The Cynic aka Kemba) and also reinvigorated veterans (Roc Marciano, El-P). Some of those guys established themselves well like Rocky, Flatbush Zombies, El-P (via Run The Jewels) and Bronson. Some didn't go as far as they should have (eXquire, Droog), others reached a certain level and more or less stayed there (Sandman, Doppelgangaz, Bodega) and others are still climbing (Kemba). Past couple of years has been kind of dry in terms of newer guys coming up. I can definitely see another great Indie scene sprouting in NYC, that can always happen, especially here. But as far as a major label superstar, that's not as likely or at least not as likely right now.
