May 30, 2016 Kinda had a feeling that's how it would go down. Almeida looked pretty hittable in the Pickett fight and Garbrandt hits a lot harder then Pickett and hes faster too.
May 30, 2016 Great card. Saw a lot of guys to keep tabs on. Koch looked like a stud in there. Starting to feel bad for Barao. He's on a tough skid right now. Sterling looked too wild. Needs discipline. Caraway grinded out a win, but it wasn't pretty. Nice to see Burkman not fall apart like so many vets are these days. That was a real war. As far as Garbrandt goes, all we really know is that his power is for real. Almeida was shook as f--- once he tasted it. Hard to gauge what beating another unproven fighter means beyond that. Would love to see him in with Dodson. He's definitely in the right division if his ground game is weak. Bantamweight is built on striking atm.
May 30, 2016 Yea I've been a Koch fan since he showed up towards the end of the WEC days. He was Chad Mendes' first WEC opponent, back when Chad was strictly a LNP fighter. But the head kick of Francisco Rivera and the counter KO of Raphael Assuncao were great. He had a lot of trouble cutting to FW though and both of those guys (more so Assuncao) would eventually find success in the UFC's BW division. He was supposed to fight Aldo at 149 but Aldo got hurt(shocker), they re-booked the fight for 153 but then Koch got hurt and was replaced by Frankie. After that they booked him with Lamas and he got decimated with GNP elbows and then obviously the Poirier loss after that. I don't think he'll ever be much at LW, but probably to his detriment (standing and banging with Cruickshank, when his ground game doesn't exist) hes never in a boring fight.
May 31, 2016 Great night of action. Was very impressed with Koch's return. Also Garbrant is about to be a problem in the BW division. Needs a little work on his defense, but that power is top 5 in the division. We've never even seen his wrestling either, which is also very good. Got my eye on him for sure.
