This is probably the best production Drake ever ever ever had. The production alone makes this album great. The different sounds flow so well together:views:

Every beat is distinctive and they compliment Drakes flows and melodies

The production is definitely top-class, the mixing/mastering of 2-3 tracks has a few flaws though.

What I really dig about the production though is that the album feels natural and somehow harmonic. As of the first listen yesterday, I don't re-call any beat standing out too much in a negative way. In fact, a few beats felt so nice and well-done (e.g. the PND joint) that I wonder how Drake & 40 managed to maintain the overall harmony.

I can't wait for my next few listens, I'm intrigued so far.

I don't think that any Drake album so far has had so much harmony, not even Take Care. That album back then was indeed special, but Make Me Proud somehow killed a few special vibes and in contrast resulted in a few cool ones.

    VIEWS though...

On a side-note, I need to listen to Grammys again and find out whether the laziness or the awful, awful hook killed that track - in a bad way. The production seemed to be fine, but I can't fully remember. My brain is playing PND's hook full-time ever since I wole up lol.

    Production wasn't great imo

and some of the songs made 40 looks like a bad producer. Listening to Weston Road Flows right now...He didn't do anything creative with that Mary J sample. Added the same drum pattern as the original, slapped a muffled low pass filter on it and thats it lol. He picks good samples, but I feel like your average beatmaker can do a better job of flipping that than he did.
