See him on IG all the time and it just got me thinkin how i kinda see him more as a pop star than a rapper. Like for the majority of his career now I've seen him more in the pitbull/flo rida category. Imo that's offensive cos i really hate both those guys but i mean more the pop rapper sorta guy.

I dunno, I'm sure you get what I mean. Where's he sit with you?

I don't consider him a great "rapper" but he was an awesome pop star and made a lot of good tracks. Country Grammar album was played non stop the summer it came out everywhere you went. He's not as "pop" as Flo Rida and Pitbull cause he did have some actual "rap" tracks.

Country grammar had some songs that bumped. Didn't care for anything he did after that really

I think he's best in a group setting. Free City by the St. Lunatics is actually a solid album. The Lunatics are usually on his best solo album tracks too. Can't think of a single Nelly-only song besides "#1" that I enjoyed.

I'm from St. Louis and let me tell you nelly put the area on the map and no one has come close to him. County grammar is one of the top rap albums from that decade and made his entire career. I don't think he really cared about being a big star or rap legend he seemed to be more into it for the money so that's why he went the pop route imo but it worked for him as you can see. The man doesn't get enough credit for what he did. You can play anything off country grammar around here and everyone will know every word. So for me he's big but I don't think of him as a top rapper for the simple fact he doesn't really drop albums. He kindve like 50 cent imo he had 1 great album and a few decent ones but that's all that matters can't hold it against him. He had a great peak and changed the game in his own way.
