Aug 19, 2018 perfect rhymes are like cat and rat easily predictable rhymes they have the same vowel and consonant which is short a and t consonant assonance is just rhyming the same syllable sounds so a assonance rhyme for cat would be rhyming can and cat both have different consonants n and t but have the same vowel sound which is short a vowel sound. i like assonance rhymes because it helps u avoid rhyming words that has been rhyme before by thousands of other mc's
Aug 19, 2018 because by definition a rhyme is anything that matches in sound so technically just rhyming the vowel sound is considered a rhyme. all the greats use this technique jay-z notorious big makaveli nas az kool g rap big punisher big l dmx scarface ice cube etc
Aug 19, 2018 to me assonance does that for me because to many times i hear mc's used force multis. and sacrifice the content and write lines that don't make any sense. just for the sake of a multi-syllable rhyme. and also they rhyme words that have been rhymed by thousands of other mc's which is wack imo
