With the clock striking midnight, Brooklyn rapper Your Old Droog, who was once thought to be an alias from Nas, decides to release his sophomore album called PACKS.

Laced with 14 tracks in total, the follow up to 2014’s self titled debut features guest appearances from Danny Brown, Heems, Chris Crack, Wiki (Of Ratking), and actor/comedian Anthony Jeselnik, among others. Meanwhile, production is handled by the likes of ID Labs, The Alchemist, 88 Keys, Nice Rec, and more.

Led by the previously heard singles “GKAC,” “Help,” & “You Can Do It!,” fans can now stream the rest of the sophomore album in its entirety via Apple Music.

Honestly this is one of the best projects I've heard this year, on par with his 2014 debut. Thoughts?

Is this dude one of those "I'm bringing back real hip hop!!" rappers? I remember not liking whatever it was he put out when I first heard of him. Alc production + Danny and Heems features got me interested

If you didn't like his first project then you won't like this. He definitely has an old school sound but i dont think it comes off as pretentious. Obviously heavily influenced by Nas but starting to come into his own.

Don't mind old school sound, just don't like elitist n----s.
Didn't get much of that vibe off his first tape so I wasn't just wondering because I know he been working since then

His first tape was great and it was helped tremendously by the rumor that he was a secret Nas alias. But once the cat got out of the bag it seems like a lot of his hype died down. I wasn't crazy about his other projects after the debut. I also saw him get heckled live in Central Park and thought that his time was just about over. It's good to see that he's still in there. I'll check this out at some point.
