Dec 7, 2015 Around this time, two years ago; Mr Mathers was on his promotional run for MMLP2 and on this particular run, he stopped by in New York after Saturday Night Live to deliver his first ever live performance of Rap God. Before the event, all we knew was Em was nominated for Artist of the Year and another category. I remember streaming the event on my phone since it was live on YT. The whole ceremony was an absolute snore-fest apart from maybe Gaga's live performance. Overall, the atmosphere at the ceremony was dreary as the two hosts tried to execute their 'on the spot' improvisation to reinvigorate the award industry which pretty much failed miserably. All of this created for a boring awards evening until the last segment where they kept Em for last and he did not disappoint. Fresh off his SNL gig where he was accused of lip syncing, he did Rap God's supersonic part to perfection which left the audience stunned by the end of it. After the night, the general consensus on Studio Leaks was that it could be one of his greatest live performances of all time. It was also a great night to be an Eminem fan as he won Artist of the Year and pretty much had the performance of the night as the general reaction. Two years on, where does this rank among his live performances? What would you rate it out of 10? Did you enjoy the YTMA night as a whole from a Stan's perspective? Were you satisfied with the YTMA ceremony in 2013?
Dec 8, 2015 d--- I remember how hyped I was for MMLP2 after hearing Rap God for the first time. Also, to stay on topic I love this performance sooo much.
Dec 8, 2015 Royce should be Eminem's hype man... for the performance, it was perfect,, but sadly its the first time I noticed Eminem has aged.
Dec 8, 2015 Two years on, where does this rank among his live performances? One of the best post-hiatus performances. What would you rate it out of 10? 8/10 (Mr. Porter slipped at one moment) Did you enjoy the YTMA night as a whole from a Stan's perspective? Yup, it was fun. Were you satisfied with the YTMA ceremony in 2013? Yup.
