Aug 7, 2021 1) It adds more hype and publicity. Fans are more invested in the album release. This is giving Kanye roughly a whole month of press coverage. 2) It allows fans to give feedback on the project and make needed revisions before it comes out. Sort of like a beta test in software.
Aug 7, 2021 I'm split. I like that there's obviously an effort being made to actually finish this album, but if you tinker around with s--- too much, the whole one-of-a-kindness of the songs gets lost because it just becomes a version. The Wolves treatment. Got f----- around with so much that it's not even that fun to listen to anymore. Been a few years since I played it. But I'll never forget that FIRST time I heard it.
Aug 8, 2021 I'd kind of agree if it just needed some basic feedback and a bit of a level up but to present a completely unfinished product that required weeks (possibly months) of round the clock attention is just another cry for help.
Aug 8, 2021 Agree it he puts it out today or at least this week. If he waits again for weeks/months/years the hype is gone
Aug 8, 2021 It would be a nice thing if he didnt charge muchn for tickets and warned about it. Also he shouldnt have any deadlines. You cant charge expensive tickets saying it is the real deal and then play some unfinished tracks like he did, come on
Aug 8, 2021 I don't think lying about the release date and disappointing your fans is a good idea. And he's been doing it since last year when Taylor dropped and he didn't. And after that, he also scrapped that JIK 2 or whatever with Dre. I haven't listened to anything, don't even know if I want this after he changed with JIK, so all I see is smoke so far, and fans getting tired of his dumb s---.
Aug 8, 2021 Yes its smart he sold on both listening parties tickets and merch and only played s--- tracks. Nevertheless album is a huge disappointment.
Aug 8, 2021 It's a smart move for Kanye. He makes money from every stunt. If you're actually a fan, wanting to listen to his music, then I would imagine it doesn't feel all that smart. I doubt he has given a f--- about them for some time though.
Aug 8, 2021 The album is like hitting Kendall Jenners p---- raw going to church every Sunday with your whole family and enjoying the word of God. It's beautiful wym
Aug 8, 2021 I don‘t like choir and organ instrumentals. Also there are too many features on it. Too much singing on here. A lot of one dimensional beats on here that are too minimalistic. But there are still songs on here that are super creative and sound nice like heaven & h---, no child left behind, lord i need you, jesus lord and hurricane. Overall this album is for me a mix between ye and jik which both albums are not good for me.
Aug 8, 2021 I really dig the choir, it gives me goosebumps. Production is solid for the most parts, nothing genre defining but very enjoyable. I'm not even sure if kanye could carry a whole album alone rapping-wise, so I'm not mad at the features either. They are well placed and add some extra flavour to the songs. I understand why the religious content might be not it for many people but personally I don't mind it (but I'm a christian). He definitely toned it down.
Aug 8, 2021 Isn‘t genre defining what we fans want from him? He is one of the best rap artists ever him making just solid projects like other rappers is not enough. He did it in the past with the rapping too. Imo he should cut the album to 12 songs. 24 is too much also donda skit and pop smoke track are super unnecessary.
Aug 8, 2021 Yeah but he hasn't made anything genre defining since Yeezus. He already made albums MBDTF, Yeezus and 808s, I'm totally fine with just an enjoyable experience. Rn I see Donda in the Pablo hemisphere, even slightly better than Pablo imo. That's all I need. Although I agree with you on th ealbum length. Normally I hate 18+ song albums, but in Kanye's case did he make us starve for so long that it's alright
Aug 8, 2021 I like Yeezus and it's weirdness more but I can totally see why people find Pablo to be the better sonic experience
