Oct 4, 2018 Was super disappointed to find out this isn’t a Nas style Lost Tapes made up of old songs cut from earlier albums and is just a new album called Lost Tapes for some reason In anyway
Oct 4, 2018 yeah not sure the reasoning behind that. still very curious to hear this, especially with Big Ghost producing
Oct 4, 2018 Apparently it's called lost tapes because it's supposed to be a throwback 90s Classic sound ??
Oct 4, 2018 halfway through but its dope. Production sounds like a 00's Jay-Z album. in a good way though. All the guests are killing it so far
Oct 4, 2018 Rolling my eyes at the crooked I and Chris rivers features but always gotta give new Ghostface a spin
Oct 4, 2018 Most consistent rapper Cant wait to listen to this even tho I'm a bit disappointed by the amount of features
Oct 5, 2018 I wasn't really surprise with the features, I was hoping for less but hey Ill check it out when I can. Ghostface is one of my favorite member from the Wu and Method man as well
Oct 6, 2018 So I've listened to this several times now, and I have to say, I wish I liked it more. I love the productions. Big Ghost nails and I mean NAILS the 90s GFK/NY sound, it's surreal cause you hear these beats and it's like something out of this world because it sounds exactly like the 90s. Ghostface is on top of his game too, he brings it on every track (my favorite verse being on Cold Crush, just classic ghost s---.). This is akin to prime ghost just more controlled and mellowed out. He's great. But there are soooo many features and they're often lackluster or just no good (I'm sorry, I don't like how Snoop sounds on Saigon Velour and E-40's verse is TERRIBLE) and it just takes me out of the album. Every track is one GFK verse and a ton of passable rapping following him. If Ghost had multiple verses on some tracks or even better a few actual solo songs, this s--- would've been great. And the skits/interludes...what is the point of this rappaport intro/outro, just verbally jerking off Ghost before the album starts and ends. And the other two skits, everything just serves to make the record seem like more of a tribute piece to Ghostface's legacy instead of "hey, this is a throwback album but it's still current and dope". Dope tracks; Buckingham Palace, Cold Crush, Majestic Approach (THIS BEAT IS SOOO GOOD), I Think I Saw a Ghost, Done it Again It's alright
Oct 6, 2018 Big Ghost really killed it with the beats Feel almost the exact opposite to @Big Dangerous with regards to the rapping, I thought most of the guests did their thing. The weak link was Ghost himself.
Oct 6, 2018 It's a step in the right direction, I like it more than the last couple Ghost albums, but it's not something I'm going to revisit often and isn't touching his pre-2010 output. Bears next to no resemblance to any of his old albums outside of a couple beats so the title still makes no sense to me.
Oct 8, 2018 Big Ghost really outdid himself on here. Hope this means he gets to take on more projects with other big names. Guests are all mostly on point too. Solid album just doesnt really feel like a Ghostface solo though
