May 15, 2017 Looking forward to this movie. I liked Prometheus so Im interested to see how this will go. Gonna see it thursday Ridley Scott said he has 6 more Alien Movies so I decided to make this a series discussion thread.
May 15, 2017 Prometheus was good for what it was, wasn't the best but it was good. This looks to be just another Alien movie except updated for the modern cinema world. I wonder what happened to the two? I would of loved to see what happened to them. Probably not going to see it unless I want something to do.

May 15, 2017 I went to see it opening night, Thursday midnight for me, and I went to a special Alien day at my local cinema before, They showed Prometheus and a never before scene of David and Elizabeth escaping the planet on another Engineer ship heading for there home world, then they showed a scene from Covenant(best scene in the whole movie imo), after the Directors cut of Alien was on. Got a free ticket for covenant as well fun day. Alien Covenant tho was good, not on the same par as the first two in the series, but defiantly better than Prometheus. Its draws inspiration more from alien for the first half of the film, CGI is excellent and the first scene when the aliens emerge is absolutely glorious, tense and non stop for a good 15 mins straight, however it was kinda ruined because I seen it at the Alien day before. It does go downhill towards the end tho climax is meh, plot twist you would see coming a mile away and they were reusing tropes from previous entries, I left kinda feeling unsatisfied, obvious sequel pending ending. Fassbender is unreal tho, steals the entire movie, Mcbride done a great job as well Deffo worth a watch anyway

May 17, 2017 @Stevio do you have children? The reason I ask is that my daughter loves Alien. She's asking to see it but I was wondering if it has any sex or gratuitous violence/ or is it similar to the first film?
May 17, 2017 I love the Alien franchise, after all.. the original is on my top 50 horror films of all time.. this one will either hit or miss.. I hope it's better than Prometheus
May 17, 2017 There's one sex scene but you don't see anything really flash of a nipple, and it's kind of gorey throughout but nothing that would give me nightmares personally
May 17, 2017 Love Alien, think Alien movie 1 is the worst though. I saw it for the first time in like 2005 ish, so a lot of it looked really dated and it made some of the "horror" scenes just feel comical. I've re-watched it since then, and it's a great atmosphere, story, etc etc but it's just too old for me to enjoy it properly. Prometheus was/is a great film and I have no idea why people s--- on it.

May 18, 2017 Spoiler: Spoiler Review Sooooooo I know Ridley Scott himelf directed this, who also directed the original Alien masterpiece, but holy f--- i can't believe how much of a 180 he's done by taking this series into a completely different direction. Like how does he go from Alien killer to God's and the whole dilema with humans and creation? My 2 biggest problems with Alien: Covenant are A.) i did not want or care about a backstory explaining the creation of the Aliens. I like to think of them as a force of nature, not a creation from a twisted Android. And B.) none of the many unanswered questions from Prometheus were expanded upon and answered. So Prometheus introduced to us the Engineers to our displeasure. But in AC they didn't even expand upon them? David just kills them all for no reason lol. Even though before Prometheus i had no interest in the Engineers, since they went that route they should have just kept going that route. I now want to know more about them, but nope not in this movie. David himself is another crucial error in this film. Like why the f--- does an Android k--- an entire race and then create the Aliens? I don't like any of us wanted a back story about the Aliens. They should just be a force of nature not a biological weapon. Not that anyone will care about this, but since the we now know how and when the Aliens were created, this movie completely makes Alien vs. Predator make no sense at all. And as for nit-pick complaints, holy f--- the Aliens grow WAY too fast in this movie. So the first 2 guys get infected with those black spores and within an hour there's an alien bursting out of their bakc/neck? That's just not plausable. And that last facehugger was only latched onto that guys face for a maximum for 15 seconds before they got it off, but it was able to lay it's egg or w/e inside of him that quick? Nah i call BS on that. Oh and one more thing... what a f---ing waste of Elizabeth Shaw's character man. She completely wasted her time going to that planet she didn't get to speak to the engineers or learn from them. She just gets mutilated lol. The movie had some cool stuff about it too. Visuals, variety of aliens, the characters were a bit better than the ones in Prometheus.
May 19, 2017 They should make an Alien movie where the aliens wake up tied to gruesome traps in some dark basement and have to cut their limbs off to escape then they get in their Skylines and have illegal street races while taking down Vin Diesel
May 19, 2017 Apparently people are saying the cgi for the aliens looks bad but that still won't stop me from watching it
May 19, 2017 its more of a horror movie then prometheus and lots of gore. they shouldnt of shown the aliens as much and let the suspense build up. seeing the aliens in full light makes them look sorta fake, but the cgi isnt too terrible.
