Apr 3, 2016 I don't personally think Eminem is overrated as i enjoy the music i like from him The Eminem Show, Recovery, The MMLP 2, The MMLP albums and records from other albums like Mockingbird, Twisted, Love You More, Spend Some Time, We As Americans, Rock Bottom, Like Toy Soldiers, 8 Mile Road, Gut's Over Fear, King's Never Die, If I Had etc more than any other artists music But i can understand if someone thought if u have sold over a 150 million records, are the highest selling artist in your genre, 6th highest selling artist across all genres. Every song u ever make, every album u ever make should be perfect. To give an example Eminem is great at hooks but there is other hip-hop artists great at hooks such as Future, Max B, Rich Homie, B.o.B that can't sell platinum even once. Yet Eminem has sold over a 150 million records yet these other artists great at hooks can't even sell platinum once Both Eminem and Drake are great at making hits but Eminem get's more substance from it as his hits, his singles, his commercial songs result in over a 150 million record sales, diamond albums, every album 100% guaranteed to sell multi platinum, every single guaranteed to chart in the top 10. Where as Drake only gains selling platinum 1 million on an album compared to Eminem's sales. Hence why he get's more substance, more results, more end product from his popularity than Drake because Drake has sold about 5 million records in total while Eminem has sold over a 150 million records in total So for this reason if u think he overrated a reasonable Em fan may not agree but can say ok homie i get where u coming from As far as branding/marketing which obviously Paul Rosenberg handles that's the managers job Eminem is loved by pop fans teenage girls and your everyday regular suburban or upper to middle class type person. But as far as the hood, hip-hop heads, the black community, the inner city he is not popular or f----- with from this demographic for the most part Paul and Em will look at it like the whole world loves Em's music besides the black community in America we know our demographic we not insecure that it's predominantly teenage teenage girls that buy the music, go to the concerts, put posters up on their walls, follow on social media, idolize Em etc. They pretty much not just Em and Paul but Dr Dre never have cared Em is not popular among the American black community
Apr 3, 2016 Em used to be one of my favs but he has declined tremendously. The people you compared him with are from this era so they don't have a chance to even go platinum.
Apr 3, 2016 I'm sure everybody here has thoroughly listened to a broad spectrum of hip-hop and reached this conclusion through that process.
Apr 3, 2016 I would agree with this if you said album instead of music, because he has released the occasional good song in the last 10 years
Apr 3, 2016 This is a weird post because in no era nobody has ever sold more records or been bigger than him
Apr 3, 2016 He is the highest selling artist worldwide in his genre Just sold out a tour in Aregntina, Chile, Brazil somethin no other artist in hip-hop can do
Apr 4, 2016 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artists There may or may not be more than 20 artists with more sales than eminem.
Apr 4, 2016 But you said that no one has ever sold more records than him ever and I just proved you wrong. What happens in the future is for the future, you were wrong
