Jun 30, 2020 Some contenders: Believe (Verse Three) [2017] Chloraseptic Remix [2018] Greatest (Verse Two) [2018] I Will [2020] Killshot [2018] Medicine Man [2015] No Regrets (Verse Two) [2020] Premonition [2020] The Ringer [2018] You Gon Learn [2020] limited to one verse per song or No Regrets Verse One and Believe Verses One and Two would be included. This was actually pretty tough for me; Believe verse three, The Ringer, and No Regrets verse two are all insanely good. Medicine Man verse has incredible highs but is matched with lows. Killshot was full of trademark Em wit. I think Chloraseptic remix is the way to go here though - honestly is a career defining verse and set the stage for his triumphant third act where he puts out listenable music again. Really captures what its like to be a fan of him and this stretch is some of his best rapping since 2002: Well, I can see the fair-weather fans and sales down But the only way I care is if I let myself down But what the f--- have I woke to? Time to eat the vocals and s--- out Pro Tools I know you still want me to ill out, don't you? Hopin' the old Slim's gonna spill out, open Fire on your whole camp with this spit, I roast you So chill out, no, you Hoes couldn't roast me with the s--- I wrote you Then I took a stand, went at Tan-Face and practically cut my motherfuckin' fan base in half and still outsold you You just called my s--- trash? Thank God, I rap better when the odds are stacked
Jun 30, 2020 f--- this is hard. His verses on Fall are nice too and his Beat Friend verse I would give a shout out too as well. As for his best verse, I would honestly have to listen to a few of these back to back in order to compare.
Jul 1, 2020 Chloroseptic Remix or Not Alike PS - The poll should be Greatest Verse 3: Revival didn't go viral! Denaun and Royce tell me that I should take the high road, f--- that, I'm finna hit back, 'Til I run out of gunpowder and split the scene, Hold the mic similar to pistol, squeeze, And I s---t from the hip when I grip them things, And my lips are the clips, got the sig lit like it's nicotine, Trigger me and Slim gets mean (Brr!), Bars are like bullets when I spit them schemes, That's why I call the MFers M16s (Woo!) Float like a butterfly, I'm gonna sting like a bee, You ain't harmin' a thing, I hit a ding hard as I'm gonna swing, I'm gonna need to put my arm in a sling, But like a wedding band, You gotta be diamond to even climb in the ring, Anomaly, I'm Muhammad Ali, 'Cause I knew one day (Hey!) I'm gonna be the... SHEEEEEEEEEEESH
Jul 1, 2020 Personally I don’t think it’s fair for The Ringer to be included; so other than that (which is my fav from the list), it’s between Chloraseptic remix & Believe verse 3. Believe is obviously the better song overall, but taking context into account etc I’ll have to go with Choraseptic Remix. The rhyme schemes & metaphors throughout Believe are incredible, and it has some of the best writing of his career, but I remember my first reaction to Chloraseptic remix — it gave me hope after Revival, and it’s arguably even better now since he delivered his promise. He’s been on an incredible run since it dropped, and it really is one of the most important verses of his career. Not had many missteps since then. Also I saw him perform it live with 2 Chainz in London which was amazing to say the least
Jul 1, 2020 Just listened again and yeah definitely Chlora remix. We hadn’t heard that anger and passion in Em’s voice in years, it was soooo refreshing Then I took a stand and went at Tan-Face, practically cut my motherfucking fanbase in half and still outsold you >>>>>>
Jul 1, 2020 You’re crazy. It’s fantastic. The lyrics are just fun but the rhyme scheme is one of his best ever. Very underrated imo.
