Jun 6, 2016 Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will make his return to the Octagon on July 9 when he faces Mark Hunt in the co-main event at UFC 200. Lesnar made the announcement on ESPN on Monday. Lesnar's return to the UFC was announced over the weekend as he comes out of retirement after last fighting in 2011 when he lost to Alistair Overeem by TKO. Lesnar said that his decision to retire from MMA has haunted him ever since he re-signed with the WWE 15 months ago and now he's making his return to action for the first time in five years. He will face Hunt in the new co-main event at UFC 200, which also features three title fights on the main card. Hunt takes the fight with Lesnar on July 9 following two straight wins in the Octagon including knockouts over Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva and former champion Frank Mir. As of right now, Lesnar is only set to return to the UFC for one fight before returning to WWE and he's scheduled to make an appearance at SummerSlam in August. http://www.foxsports.com/ufc/story/ufc-brock-lesnar-faces-mark-hunt-at-ufc-200-060616
Jun 6, 2016 Nobody is getting gassed, fight wont last more then 3 minutes. Glad the UFC didnt give him a can, they stand to benefit more from Brock losing as this is a one off. Although neither Cain nor Overeem really got the Brock rub from smashing him so who knows.
Jun 6, 2016 "Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200," the statement read. "Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for Summerslam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network." http://www.mmafighting.com/2016/6/5...tatement-on-brock-lesnar-competing-at-ufc-200
Jun 6, 2016 Don't think it matters he has a contract with the WWE. Maybe they could work something out but I wouldn't bet on it.
Jun 6, 2016 If he loses, I'm sure he won't think too hard about returning. If he wins though, thats another story.
Jun 6, 2016 If Brock wants to be in UFC again after this while still under WWE contract (which was a 3 year deal I believe) I'm guessing WWE will want UFC to let them have Ronda or Conner for a match or at least a couple appearances. so what's the general consensus here with Mark Hunt? I'm still too new to UFC to know, is he expected to beat Brock or to lose?
Jun 6, 2016 Hunt is a 42 year old who's career is winding down. It's not impossible he beats Brock but it's unlikely imo.
Jun 6, 2016 Brock hasn't been on TV for awhile so it's safe to assume he's been training hard for at least two three months.
Jun 6, 2016 Anything can happen in the dubya dubya E there Jawn OH .YES MAGGLE BROCK LESNAR LOVES TO FIGHT MAGGLE
Jun 6, 2016 WWE tends to pretend like something doesn't exist when it doesn't go their way sometimes. I honestly think if this is how it'll go when he comes back to WWE for summerslam. If Brock wins at UFC 200: WWE will mention on a very regular basis that Brock is coming off a 'dominant victory in the octagon'(doubt they say UFC much if at all) and he's a true crossover superstar. They'll promote the h--- outta this in the media too. If Brock loses at UFC 200: They may not even mention it at all when he returns lol, or if they do it'll be very brief and only in the beginning just to kinda get it out of the way. Maybe whoever he's facing will mention it in a promo once.
Jun 6, 2016 They lose nothing if he loses, gain a ton of free press (I.e. OMGZ WWE superstar Brock Lesnar returns to UFC!?767!&)) and he looks like a monster if he wins. As long as he doesnt get flat lined immediately or straight up dominated (don't think it'll last long enough for this to happen) everybody benefits from this. He's a heavyweight with heavy hands that could end a fight at any minute. In that division it could go either way really
Jun 6, 2016 So what's the over/under on the amount of wins Brock would need for another title shot? 2? 3?
