i think Jamaica will offer more from their culture (not just weed but yeah do that too) dont know much about Curacao but from the little ive gathered i think it's more of a paradise island as in the atmosphere is very harmonic since there are very few tourist and the water is very crystal clear (prolly cool to scuba dive in), the beaches is pretty much untouched/clean. The two will give a completley different experience from one another but i would go for Jamaica and if i would want to go to a paradise island but like when im 50 i would choose one of the islands around Madagascar like le RĂ©union. Either way none will disappoint you

Definitely an option and something for the future!

Curacao has been chosen btw. Jamaica also seems very cool but I always wanted to go to Cura (its a part of Holland) and w a more going out/adventure type of vacation last year -Miami- a relaxing one seems cool too. Also going to Tenerife later this year.

And the diving, water sports at Curacao arr also cool af. And, it all looks nice as f---..

Been to Jamaica 3 times. Good times. They had a bar in the airport that plays Cool Runnings 24 hours a day last time I went.

I take it you're going the "All Inclusive" route? If so, every place is gonna be kind of the same. You're basically at a hotel with a nice beach and can drink and eat all you want. I would book whatever had the better hotel amenities.

Nah not the All In route. It's great, but if you only gonna stay at the resort it doesn't really matter where you go (resorts in Spain are pretty much the same as lets say Miami).

We go to a hotel w breakfast only. Since Curacao is not so big we gonna rent a car so we can see and do different things there. Diving/jetski, go to different cities etc.

Jamaica is still on my list though. Are there, except the regular stuff like smoking weed lol, any special things you should do/visit if you're there?

Can't talk about Curacao as I've never been there, but Jamaica is a poor country (as are pretty much all vacation spots in the Caribbean) and you're pretty much advised to not leave the resort besides doing tourist group s---. I did one night all drunk and I was okay. I made friends with the bartenders (must do) by giving them a big tip when I got there and they gave me all of the safe places to go. But generally I just stayed at the resort. I did a waterfall tour which was cool, you get to swim in the waters there and go on a tour of where Bob Marley lived...and obviously drink along the way. Also like most islands they have ATV tours and jet skis. I would honestly never go to a place in the caribbean without it being all inclusive. It's so worth it to wake up and have food that's already paid for, swim up to a pool bar where you don't need cash (besides tipping) and not worrying about getting sick from the water. A plus about being American, is that most of the Europeans/Canadians don't tip, so they take extra care of us

    Helpfull, thanks!

The hotel I'm staying has a small supermarket next to it so we can get food for breakfast there. We can also just pay 15 everday for breakfast at the hotel (it doesn't really matter if you do that before or there).
Use of the swimming pool is also free for guests, same as the (private) beach. So that isn't a problem. I do think Jamaica is a little different from Curacao, but we gonna stay at the safe place of the island and not wander around at night etc.

The tipping s--- is really misleading in the US for us europeans lmao. The price on the menu is never the actual one lol. It's always more.. plus the people (tour drivers etc) literally beg for tips 10 times during the trips.

I'd be more worried about drinking the water outside of a tourist hotel...even from showering you can get s--- in you...but I don't know Curacao. I like tipping for bars and restaurants, makes the waiter/bartender work for their money. If they s--- they don't get a good tip, it holds them accountable. No idea what tours in the US you're going on where you have to tip though?

But in places like Jamaica the workers get paid barely any money. My last time in the Dominican Republic I gave the pool bartender $20 the first day and no matter where I was in the pool he'd find me and make sure I had a drink in my hand the whole time I was there

Yeah true. Only gonna drink water in the resort or what I bought at the supermarket.

The tip system itself is great! Like you said the person that works more, gets more. Also a great way to motivate people to do their job even better. It's just kinda strange when u see like a menu that says a beer costs 6 dollar and when the check comes its like 8 lol.

I went on a bus tour through Miami and a boat tour that took us to the islands. And the Everglades. Which was cool, and you didn't actually need to pay a tip but they said 'we would very much appreciate a tip' like every 5 minutes it seemed lol. I'm not a cheap f--- and I did give one, especially since they did a great job.. it just seems kinda weird. But maybe thats also because we're not used to it here.

That last part is definitely true. We did the same in Mallorca (over there is no tip 'system'). We gave him like 5 euro's extra (we all did) which meant he got a 55 euro tip. He made sure we got our drinks as one of the first ones the whole week w some extra liquer in the coctails or mixed drinks lol
