Mar 6, 2019 I was pleasantly surprised listening to DaBaby's (formerly Baby Jesus) latest project - Baby on Baby, as recommended by @awhellno . This dude has got a bright future; he's funny, raps with purpose, has an insane flow and a flawless ear for beats. Plus his music videos are next level s---. He sounds kinda like what I hoped Blocboy JB would (or will) evolve into. Highly recommend checking out the whole tape (album?). Thoughts?
Mar 6, 2019 baby on baby was crazy for sure really showed his strengths someone pointed out his similarity to ludcaris, i like that comparison a lot
Mar 6, 2019 one of my favorite songs on there have you heard of his previous mixtapes? any recommendations?
Apr 8, 2019 So gave this a listen, first impressions: I really like that most of these songs are so short. Not in a way like 'glad its over' but it keeps the album interesting. If these songs were 4-5 minutes I would be bored of it after half the album. That's also because of his voice I guess. Production is very interesting on some songs, like @YNW Squiddy said 'Best Friend' slaps! Same goes for 'Baby Sitter' w Offset. Rich Homie Quan kills it as usual, Carpet Burn is probably my favorite song production wise. Again, love that its such a short but nice song. The rest is pretty good too, but aside from the ones I mentioned and maybe a few more its not that special in a time were we get like how many trap albums every week.. he does stand out imo though and interested what more he has in store. 7/10 @Sav Stanfield Oh and its monday morning!
Apr 8, 2019 yes! finally! pretty much agreed with your review. Its the energy I'm enjoying the most. He's a breath of fresh air in the current scene. Plus his videos are incredible. Glad you gave it a listen
