    It astonishes me how 60% of veterans voted for this guy. I mean, wtf....



    How do you tell a widow of a fallen soldier “he knew what he signed up for.” Seriously... wtf. Thats not to mention how he put his own chief of staff’s (general kelly) dead son on the spotlight in order to score some political points:



    Trump claimed obama (and other previous presidents) didn’t call the families of fallen soldiers — which is entirely false. He then told the media to “ask general Kelly if he got a call from Obama.” Several years ago, general kelly requested that his son not be given special treatment because he didn’t want to make it seem like his son’s death was anymore tragic than other servicemen who lost their lives in combat. Kelly didn’t want his son’s death politicized but Trump did so anyway.

    We of course all know about his disgusting comments regarding John McCain & how he’s “a hero because he was captured. I like people who aren’t captured.” McCain fought in Vietnam & was a prisoner of war for 5 years. While a PoW he did all he could to help other PoWs, many claiming that the only reason they made it through was because of McCain.



    Then last but not least there was his attacks on the gold star Khan family who lost their son in the Iraq War. The Khan family criticized trump at the DNC convention which pushed trump to respond & engage in a war of words with the family:



    It’s just astonishing to me how he can continue to insult & disrespect those in uniform & get away with it. If another president did any of these things, it’d be a gigantic scandal. Any veterans here that have any thoughts on this?

    Trump refuted the claim coming from a Florida congresswomen that he told a widow of a fallen U.S. soldier that “he knew what he signed up for.”



    In response, the fallen soldiers’ mother has since confirmed that Trump made insensitive remarks about her son’s death.Another person in the car when Trump made the call also confirmed he made the remarks that the Florida congresswoman stated.

    @Trackz any thoughts on this? You’re in the armed forces right? I’m just curious of input from veterans since a majority of vets tend to support trump.

    I didn't vote for him, but I had a feeling he would win.

    I feel like vets or anybody that supported or voted for him just wanted someone with an unpolitical, unfiltered mannerisms about everything he does and says. So I am just wondering if the vets and people that are bitching about Trump, isn't this what you wanted? Why act surprised now?

    Trump being in office to me just means a lot of Americans and veterans are all talk. Ain't nobody working to prove or supersede Trump's opinions or actions.

    I don't have all the answers to change or go against what Trump says, but I know he's not going anywhere until a real American collaborative effort takes place.

    I am so embarrassed to have this man be the leader of my country. I'm sorry for everyone that so much of our population are dumb and racist enough to allow this to happen.

    He said McCain isn't a war hero because he got caught. Well, if we really look at it, most of our claimed heroes died or succeeded in their tour/deployment or venture. Do you really consider someone who got captured or bullied a hero just because they survived something his peers were able to avoid?

    As for the comments, I don't need to hear from Trump or anybody for that matter while I'm grieving. Nothing against the widow, but I wouldn't of even accept his call. You already know what type of response you're gonna get.

    The military's one of the few things I thought Trump would care about, looks like I was wrong about that.

    Trump confirmed to be a total piece of s--- on all subjects and not just most. Also it's probably not just a coincidence that this fallen soldier was black.
