Dec 26, 2019 It’s a bit cringey watching him try to justify the ghost writers by making himself out to be the guy who takes the fall for everyone else in the industry who uses ghost writers, as well as apparently being an influence to new artists that they “shouldn’t be afraid to collaborate.” Nobody is saying that collaboration is wrong, the issue arrises when people are putting work into the creative process for you and they aren’t credited for said work. And as a result, making it look like (or even claiming it to be) your own. If he straight up took responsibility instead of all the side stepping and justification, by saying he uses ghost writers and will continue to use them while he works on music, I would have much more respect for him.
Dec 26, 2019 I agree Good point, if no one snitches to the world about his ghostwriting, I highly doubt he would ever mention it in an interview...that would be a paid off secret...he was definitely embarrassed about the situation and comes up with collabo excuse... He’s just justifying it now, because he was outed... He was definitely uncomfortable with some of those questions...even though I’m sure they prepped him beforehand....he was really overthinking what he should say
Dec 26, 2019 Especially since at the very start of the video he seemed to have an issue with not being credited for Sicko Mode lol
Dec 26, 2019 Love how when he talks about Pusha T...he says he was a fan and then you can tell he regrets saying that and says...he was a bigger fan of the Neptunes...and wanted to be signed to them actually lol He really hates Pusha...he should release his diss track..i think eventually he will...or “someone” will leak it I can seen Pusha T doing some more subliminals on a new track off of this interview
Dec 26, 2019 Q. Miller was credited for the work he did though? His larger point is that collaborating with artists to make music is something everybody in the music industry does. Much more so than him.
Dec 26, 2019 Cool interview. He seems super salty about the Pusha situation and sort of hurt by the Kanye situation. I know it’s different with celebrities but I would feel awful morally making my kid get three separate DNA tests before accepting them as my child.
Dec 26, 2019 Wow. Drake really has turned into an irritating a------ He was always cringey but now you can tell that he genuinely thinks he's a gangster. Laughed when he said he's out on the streets and really living "that life". Also called himself a thug. Man thinks he's Pac now.. Get back to doing what you do best Aubrey - making R&B music
Dec 26, 2019 But who cares? It was about him, not other people in the industry. And if everyone else uses them, that should just make it yet another reason not to. Doesn’t make using ghost writers any less inauthentic.
Dec 26, 2019 He should just embrace what his niche / genre really is instead of pretending to be hard. And yeah... the over exaggerated mouth movements while he talks are really cringey as well lol
Dec 26, 2019 He was addressing ghost writing accusations against him & how he takes it more as a badge of honor because he knows what goes on behind the scenes. He’s aware there are artists that people love who get way more help writing music than he does. He’s written music for those people himself. I think there’s a distinction between ghost writing & collaboration. Q. Miller was never a secret. His name was in the writing credentials of IYRTITL before Meek said anything. People only cared when someone big seemed to point it out. Nonetheless, acts like Dre, Kanye, Eazy-E etc. have been known to get help writing their music for decades & no one really seemed to care either.
Dec 27, 2019 Cut scene about the goat Edit; not even a cut scene I just missed it when I watched it, but point remains
