Aug 21, 2016 there's something about this song that has a vintage vibe about it, the beat is some classic Shady production. storytelling is on point as well, i wouldn't mind more of this if he decides to drop another album.
Aug 21, 2016 This is the kind of thing that tells me em still has it in him...we here some real emotion and the shouting actually fits...but then the rest of the album he lost it...wish we could hear in that vault.. he prolly threw away a bunch of good tracks like this
Aug 21, 2016 love the bridge. this was one of the tracks that stood out to me even when i first heard the snippets
Aug 21, 2016 I like the storytelling, but his flow/delivery about puts me to sleep in the first two verses.
Aug 22, 2016 second fav Shady XV track (right after GOF). he's incredible the whole way through, the storytelling is goat, lyrics are goat, productions nice (agreed def vintage shady). hook is abhorrently bad probably the worst thing ive ever heard in my life. but it doesn't k--- the song. its a great song. underrated af.
Aug 22, 2016 Amazing song. Marshall has a interesting quality of making you feel sorry for a millionaire
Aug 22, 2016 I like it but wish he didn't do the syllable cramming thing, it just doesn't flow smoothly
Aug 22, 2016 Listen to this song on the regular, it was the gem of Shady XV, really does remind me of old Slim. Love the piano rift in the background and the bridge at the start of the third verse is brilliant. Defo shows that he's still got it in him. At the end of the second verse where he goes "it's almost like i paid the price for fame twice I HATE it" he genuinely sounds angry like his old self. Hope he takes this direction on the next album.
Aug 22, 2016 Flow and delivery are terrible on it. The triceritops bit?? Sounds unfinished. Does have glimpses of an old 'Shady' type beat though.
Aug 22, 2016 i love how people keep saying that xv sounds unfinished or mixed poorly. every one of those level dips is an artistic decision. and wtf some of you don't understand flow at all. he's following the best perfectly and the rhymes sound completely natural to me
Aug 22, 2016 OP beat me to making this thread dammit. It's easily his best Shady XV song IMO. The multi-syllabic flow was done very well here. Every line made sense in the larger context of the song. I really like the depth too.
Aug 22, 2016 One of my favorite post hiatus songs. Solid delivery throughout and he actually stays on beat. One of the few times he perfectly executed the choppy flow/shouting parts. The Outsidaz shoutout gave me goosebumps on the first listen. Need more songs like this...
