    Seeing Drake dominate the game for so long made me wonder if he's held / is holding the greatest reign ever in hip hop.
    I know Nas, pac/big, em, jay, 50, ye, wayne all dominated for a minute but looking back at their time at the top, taking everything over, their reign was relatively short lived.
    So, who's held the greatest reign in hip hop history?

    Jay-Z's probably held the longest reign in maintaining his popularity for over 15 years. In terms of quality, definitely Kanye.

    I think Eminem was probably the greatest rapper of all time from 1999-2003. Throughout their entire career though, I'd go with Jay Z. Kanye is also up there. He's been relevant for years and years and reinvents himself every project.

    Jay-Z & Eminem are the only two still can get people talking when releasing music, Drake is now one of them as well.

    Eh.. Eminem and then Eminem/50 owned the game for a while. Em fell off and the game went to Wayne.

    Then Wayne came around and that dude was incredibly popular.. Like I remember everyone was bumping Dedication 3 and No Ceilings.. I mean everyone. s--- was crazy. Wayne also brought his crew of YMCMB which included Drake and they have held the game down since then. Wayne/Drake has had that s--- longer than anyone. Really surprised no one mentioned Wayne.

    Jay Z has maintained relevance for a long a--- time but he's never owned the game, the way Eminem and Wayne have.

    I would say Eminem (Eminem/50) had the cooler and better run, but Wayne (Wayne/Drake) has had the longer and more steady reign at a mainstream level.

    Edit: I wouldn't even put Kanye in there at all.. dude is great but he hasn't held the game ever. He's more of a sprinkling of a breath of fresh air every time he releases an album. Like.. it's always Wayne Wayne Wayne Drake Drake Drake then Kayne drops and we hear Kanye. But he's never owned that s--- for long term.

    Lmao no one disrespectd him on here. Pretty much everyone agrees that Eminem used to have classics, but he's tarnished his name with the new stuff and fans are making it worse. Like I see some people giving his newer albums 7 or 8 out of 10s, which means some stans legit believe some of his newer albums were like a few good songs and a little more work from being classic. That is, in the words of the RZA himself, f---ing RIDICULOUS

    Every Drake album I try to get into .... can never get past the 4th song. Never will get it.... one of the worst "rappers" I have ever heard.
