Apr 28, 2020 This is my first mixtape, 21. I started writing some of these lyrics seven years ago on a notebook in social studies class no beat in mind. This mixtape isn't perfect, its raw, the mixes are DIY, and I recorded some parts on the iPhone mic. But this, is my first project, and I have many more to come. Today on my 21st birthday I finally put out this tape, and I'm happy how it turned out. I'd love if you can give it a listen and let me know what you think. @CreativeSXN @OffTopic BS @Sav Stanfield @Boos @Zhaddow @M Solo @cpt awesome WPG joint acc @Donkey Kong Cuntry @The Shape @Slyk @ItsPwizz @FiveOh1 @icecube @Jet✞ @Cyreides @Koolo @Antman @JMG @Zeugma @grizzyp @Detroit24 @SKUXY BANGS @Marshall III @Autistic Meme @Australia @MichaelsMad @YaBoyTr @Chewie @TimmyT @reservoirGod @Xmipod @Am I SYko @Rick James @Fire Squad @Alpha @David26 @HargyDON @Sign Language @Lil Squeed @Charlie Work @WPG @Ordinary Joel @Buddha @Kon @Winter @Worm @Enez @902fre @JulnHT @OwI @Mikey @Sea Mauville @neomerge @paulye @the lyricvore @rapmusik @YSV @awhellno @SHUDEYE @Bojack give me some feedback! appreciate it.
Apr 28, 2020 I feel you, but this is a mixtape not an album, hence the shorter songs, when I finally release an album it'll have 4-5 minute long tracks. As for not listening, to each his own.
Apr 28, 2020 I don't mind shorter songs from amateur artists tbh especially on a debut. Gives you a taste of their general sound over different styles that they can expand on later if there's a demand. Four songs in and it's nice so far.
Apr 28, 2020 Some random feedback and thoughts throughout the listen: 1. Started very strong, the ode to your fiance was ballsy because that type of content can get cheesy quick but I thought you pulled it off well. 2. HIT seemed a little misplaced in the tracklist, I'd probably flip it with So Low. 3. Overall the lyrics kept my attention for the most part and they weren't as predictable as I'd expect from a debut project. 4. Lasiiik's interlude was great 5. Surprisingly, I like you more on slower tracks (like the first couple and so low), but Letter To Above, while appreciated and I like the intention, was a little too flat, imo. It's tough to critique music with that type of content. Overall I thought it was an easy listen and I'd be interested in hearing more. Favorite track: So Low Least Favorite Track: Kali's Back or Can't Believe It
Apr 28, 2020 Thanks for the honest feedback. It helps so much cause like 90% of the people I send it to just say 'nice' and I have no idea what parts to work on.
Apr 28, 2020 Pretty modern sound, but it's got the spirit of some of RB's classic e-mcee lyricists. You sound like Drake on "Thank You"
Apr 28, 2020 Pretty dope on the first listen. HIT and Can’t Believe It are my favorites so far. Good project dude
Apr 28, 2020 Halfway through right now, pretty good so far. Agree with @Lil Squeed that I think you sound better on the slower, more mellow tracks, also think the rough mixing sounds better on those kind of songs. Adds to the feel of it. I think my favourite track so far is Thank You. Happy birthday too
Apr 29, 2020 Pretty solid for a debut mixtape, the sequencing was great and the length isn’t as punishing as I normally see from other SoundCloud contemporaries. Some suggestions I’d have for the future is asking yourself what can make this individually standout from the crowd? Try experimenting with different varieties of flows (2nd half of So Low leads me to believe you can easily do that as you grow). What other topics can you address, it was pretty bold that you invited us into your life, but can you go further as the world progresses alongside you. Aside from the standard mixing, vocal layering advice that you can get from people more knowledgeable than me at it, so far so good!
