Apr 10, 2016 Kanye pretended TLOP was a Tidal exclusive. Drake just announced V6 will be an Apple Music exclusive. What are your thoughts?
Apr 10, 2016 I'm indifferent.. For convience, it's a good idea. Plus from a marketing standpoint in a world where streaming is becoming the norm, it's genius. On the other hand if you're an audiophile like me it irritates the s--- out of yof because streaming strips away some of the dynamic range and leaves much to be desired.
Apr 10, 2016 dont like the idea but im fine as long as they release physical forms also.. if i buy an album i want it to be something more than pixels on a screen
Apr 10, 2016 We whine about streaming services replacing cds just like the previous generation whined about cds replacing vinyls and cassette tapes. it's a matter of dozens albums being released this way when we get used to it and appreciate the fact that people go with the times.
Apr 10, 2016 I don't mind because as soon as it hits the streaming site, I hit BX and get the download.
Apr 10, 2016 It's kinda lame. I don't want to subscribe to 3 streaming services just to have acess to an album that I like. So if I can't listen to it through streaming, I will download it though other means.
Apr 10, 2016 I'll be getting that download either way, no worry of mine for the loss of sales/revenue.
Apr 10, 2016 I don't give a s---, I'm gonna download itout if want it. I'm not going to sign up for a music service based on one album.
Apr 10, 2016 wack i dont stream, cept for soundcloud and netflix & amazon prime anything else is not necessary imo and i think solely releasing these albums on these streaming dservices ultimately hurts the artist's product because not as many people will be hearing it if it's just on tidal or apple music
Apr 10, 2016 Streaming is ridiculous. I would never spend any money on that. I prefer CD's. Rarely do I pay for a download unless I really want to support an Indie act that I know personally or am a fan of. But streaming?! FOH.
Apr 10, 2016 Streaming is wonderful though. As a student I'm paying $5 a month for all my music, but when companies start buying exclusives your membership loses value, it seems like you have to have Tidal, Spotify, and Apple Music if you want to listen to all your favorite artists.
Apr 10, 2016 It's natural progression. We illegally downloaded albums for a decade and now the industry has corrected to find a way to pay artists/labels regardless of sales. And in the end, as consumers, we get access to more music than ever before for a fraction of the price (inb4 "well I always had access to that much music, and for free xD" -- yeah you're part of the reason why CDs are being phased out for the time being keep doing you and the industry will realign itself)
Apr 10, 2016 f--- exclusives, it's like the music industry's punishing its best customers. Most people nowadays dont even pay for music, yet those people get access to more music than the ones that actually do pay. It encourages piracy if anything. Especially with streaming being relevant for such a short amount of time, this just scares away potential customers. Im all for streaming but, yeah exclusives are dumb imo
Apr 10, 2016 Same, there will never be a time in my life where I do not pay for music streaming again. But platform exclusives piss me off, by the time TLOP was available to me on Apple Music, it had already worn off its welcome. f--- that s---.
