Jan 19, 2021 For me it's: 1. 50 Cent - GRODT 2. The Game - The Documentary 3. G-Unit - Beg For Mercy 4. Tony Yayo - Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon 5. Lloyd Banks - The Hunger For More 6. Young Buck - Straight Outta Cashville
Jan 19, 2021 GRODT Beg For Mercy The Hunger For More The Documentary Straight Outta Cashville Thoughts of a Predicate Felon This was hard, besides the placement of Yayo's album. All of these albums were day one purchases for me and were the soundtrack to my junior and senior years of high school.
Jan 19, 2021 Why do people dislike TOAPF so much? I've always thought it was heavily underrated. Maybe because it came out later after everyone dropped, and people got tired of the G-Unit sound at that point?
Jan 19, 2021 I like it, it’s an okay project. The others are just much better IMO... grodt 10/10 BFM 9/10 Doc 8/10 SOC 8/10 HFM 8/10 TOAPF 6.5/10 Buck The World and T.O.S are good too Off topic but what I’d like to see next (it will never happen) is a documentary or series based on the g unit story. Have you watched the WU’s series? s----s fire, something like that would be great for g unit.
Jan 19, 2021 I haven't seen it yet. Yeah, it would definitely be dope, but only if they try to be objective and show both sides of the beefs (Ja Rule, Game, Jada, etc.).
Jan 19, 2021 To me GRODT and The Documentary are 10/10. BFM is 9/10. The rest are 7-8/10 depending on my mood
Jan 19, 2021 I've never been a big fan of Tony Yayo. I enjoy the songs with features on TOAPF the most (So Seductive, Drama Setter, We Don't Give A, I know you don't love me).
Jan 19, 2021 Am I the only one who thinks The Massacre is as good as GRODT? I think GRODT has better lead singles(Candy Shop and Disco Inferno <<<<<) but the album cuts on The Massacre like Baltimore Love Thing, Get In My Car, This Is 50, Ski Mask Way, Position of Power have aged better than some of the cuts from GRODT. But that's just me. Anyways, for me, it's: 1. GRODT/Massacre tied 2. The Documentary 3. The Hunger For More 4. Straight Outta Cashville 5. Beg For Mercy 6. Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon
Jan 19, 2021 The Massacre is a great album, but GRODT is a timeless classic in my opinion. The Massacre is a bit too poppy at some points (Candy Shop, So Amazing, Build You Up, etc.), while on GRODT literally every single song is a street b-----r. The best songs on The Massacre (Position of Power, I'm Supposed to Die Tonight, Ski Mask Way, etc.) are GRODT-quality, but the album as a whole is less consistent.
Jan 21, 2021 d---, these were my formative years lol. Obviously GRODT and Documentary at the top of the list and Predicate Felon at the bottom, the other three were all interchangeably great though. I'd throw the Massacre, GRODT soundtrack plus the Mobb Deep album (even though it wasn't great) in the mix too, though they'd all be in second-level quality tier
Jan 21, 2021 All classics i grew up on. Only yayos album was wack GRODT Documentary THFM Cashville Bfm TOAPF
Jan 21, 2021 I honestly really liked that mobb deep album. 50 made some good tracks with them. The reason for me why people look down on that project is because of the more mainstream route they took on it. That s--- had some bangers tho for real.
Jan 21, 2021 Documentary Beg for Mercy (this may actually be my #1) GRODT Straight Outta Cashville Hunger for More Thoughts of a Predicate Felon
Jan 21, 2021 G Unit had such a great opening run. Shame that pretty much all of them dropped so dramatically for their second albums. If I could be bothered, I'd rank the whole lot. But don't have time. A do know though that Terminate ok Site would be last.
Jan 21, 2021 d--- I didn't know Thoughts was so disliked compared to the rest of the debut albums. I've always liked Yayo's agressive delivery a lot, the production is great, and the features are lit too.
Jan 21, 2021 I think everyone was sick and tired of G Unit by the time he eventually dropped so he got a bit of a raw deal. That being said even though the production and features helped he was never a good rapper.
Jan 21, 2021 Also, Young Buck will forever go down as one of the greatest what-ifs in hip hop. I honestly believe he could've reached T.I./Jeezy levels under better conditions.
Jan 21, 2021 when my old roommate worked at a BBQ joint in nashville, he said Young Buck came in and bought like $500 worth of food. so he seems to be doing alright still lol
