Sep 10, 2017 I have to admit this is inspired by that thread the obsessed eminem stan made, but I put this in Life/Serious because it isn't just about music. So yeah you can like the art a certain artist creates, whether its movies/tv shows you like, music, paintings, or whatever. But to get so obsessed with a person, to actually know every single thing about him/her going so much further than their art form only. Besides the fact that its sick, I'm curious why (you think) a person will go so far that their lives get completely taken over by such a thing.
Sep 10, 2017 the person they're obessed over has made such an impact on their lives they go as far as they do. You do see these rapper artist stans digging and finding rapper's old tb pictures they don't remember taking. "Hmm i wonder how *blank* looked like when he was younger" Eminem stans are obsessed with, to know his weight, theories on why he's fat, all that, because they've grow an attachment to him as if he was a family member. Albums, music videos, music interviews, documentaries.
Sep 12, 2017 It's as with any other obsession such as gym, sex, studies, an ex etc etc some people just home into a particular thing that they overly value more than everything else in life. So if you're putting that much value into some artist then your life and mental mindset clearly isn't aren't healthy
Sep 12, 2017 idfk it'd be way too much effort/energy on my part to care that deeply about every single aspect of another persons life
Sep 12, 2017 They're probably so valuable and important to them that the obsessed person probably thinks the other person is a part of their personality and they wouldn't be the same without that person
Sep 12, 2017 I have this trait and even I don't know the answer. Many factors such as boredom/interest/desire/thinking he or she has a personal connection with you can play a part. Me I just assume that my brain is formed in such a way that it lives off of obsessions both big and small; there's always a main obsession that drives everything and a bunch of smaller obsessions that just act as desires or hobbies; everything else in my brain is basically me looking for that certain something whether it's an experience or just trying to go through a routine. But then again, somebody without autism might have that so nobody knows the answer. Too many variables.
Sep 13, 2017 The gap between rich and poor and the envy over how random f--- tards end up getting rich for nonsense...you'll float too don't forget that
Sep 13, 2017 Obsessive personalities. Lack of direction & interest in their own life which leads them to addictively studying the life of those they envy. It’s known among Psychologists as Celebrity Worship Syndrome (CWS), and I’ve touched upon it in a few lectures over the years. It’s quite interesting and worth looking up. Those with poor mental health are more susceptible to it, and there are many levels going up to the very very extreme *tags Emsxn*
Sep 15, 2017 Depression combined with the delusion that your relation to something this person has said or done actually was done for you.
Sep 15, 2017 I've had an obsession with music in general for a long time. Its saved my life on a few occasions. I could expand on how and why, but i'll leave it at that. Can an obsession really be an obsession if it doesn't conflict with what's necessary for you or the people around you? I see nothing wrong with harmless obsessions.
Sep 15, 2017 Don't confuse obsession with motivation. If me knowing any and every thing about you pushes me to do better without violating your space, then I think it's a good thing.
