May 17, 2017 This isn't like the many relationship advice threads I made. I want to change my way of thinking. I just learned that I can't recognize emotions, can't determine genders, cannot determine whether something's a joke or not or even figure out what the person is doing. I realize this is hindering me in life and I need help. I'm going to take a psychology course at my college but I need to know if there's anything else I can do to help myself.
May 17, 2017 you see what gender identity politics are doing you're confusing poor tpk for f---s sake
May 17, 2017 Come on, this is not a joke thread. I really need advice on this issue; this is an autism related issue so I really want good advice. @Cyreides you're autistic like me, please give advice.
May 17, 2017 I'm planning on doing that, but I want direction from forum members. I'm seeking every avenue here.
May 17, 2017 I mean, aside from the gender thing I'm pretty much in the same boat lol Idk what to tell u m8 I typically find that I simply don't care what most other people are doing and by extention their emotions are just sort of irrelevant to me soooo
May 17, 2017 I'm not grump just cause I think the music most of you listen to is garbage lmao This is 100% salt
May 17, 2017 You've come to the right place. For starters, don't do psychology to "learn more" about yourself. You won't. There's no point in doing psychology unless you plan to be a psychologist or do a full degree to use as a gateway degree to something else. Also you don't need to worry about determining genders as that's just enabling the mental illness of people with gender dysphoria. You're gonna have to provide some exact examples of when you couldn't recognise emotions or jokes. I wouldn't bother with medication. I mean you can use them to treat other symptoms like depression and anxiety but there's no medicine that'll improve your social skills which is what you're worried about. You have the advantage of being aware that you're lacking some social skills. But I can't help if I don't know how much you're really lacking like are you a complete social r----- or just a bit awkward. For starters though, how do you act when you're drunk or tipsy? Do you loosen up a bit and become more comfortable and social or do you go full r-----?
May 17, 2017 I don't blame you for having a hard time identifying genders lately with what these modern generation fa----s However on the other part if you are sooo hopeless and you feel like a living empty bucket and you're completely f----- try to watch a good character closely on TV and imitate it to the fullest in your social life... It's a s-----y solution but if everything is f----- you got nothing to lose... And btw f--- doctors they just want your money
May 17, 2017 This is actually good advice for general and social anxiety or even depression as LSD or better yet mushrooms can have this afterglow effect that lasts months or even longer. A lot of people report deep introspection and changes in perception of life. But I'm not sure it'll help social ineptitude that stems from something like autism. Sure he might start being less tense and more relaxed and happy but he'll still be socially inept.
May 17, 2017 I know it is from a general standpoint ... Im just saying if he don't have a character at all let him try the "fake it till you make it" thing
