Dec 28, 2015 I don't make threads often so, if this is terrible I am sorry. Eminem mentioned in Zane Lowe Part 3 that HTS kind of lead him into making MMLP2 and going in that direction. I am not a big fan of MMLP2. I wonder if Eminem never would have made that EP with Royce would his album that he was working on during that period be better than MMLP2? I personally think whatever he would have ended up doing would have been better than making that sequel. What do you guys think?
Dec 28, 2015 I feel like HTS was when he started using generic youtube hooks & s--- beats so maybe without that EP MMLP2 would of included less s--- beats/hooks. I feel like that project regressed him in terms of being this new mature Em and put him back to "Im in my 40's but I wanna be like the old me" stage that the MMLP2 went
Dec 28, 2015 f--- Royce his music is terrible And he is the 1 that influences Eminem to do the songs mainly featured verses though of just rhyming for the sake of rhyming saying nothing and using the choppy flow
Dec 28, 2015 What the f--- with you peopl? HTS was Great, Royce is an amazing Mc and MMLP 2 is a classic
Dec 28, 2015 Royce challenges Eminem to be a better Emcee.... That's it.... He's one of the most underrated rappers alive..
Dec 28, 2015 Don't blame MMLP2 on Royce..... Royce would have never put out that hot garbage.... Go and listen to Street Hop and PRhyme..... HTS was fire....
Dec 28, 2015 MMLP 2 is nothing like h---: The Sequel. If Em would've called MMLP 2 something different, many of those saying it sucks would've said it's great. MMLP 2 is f---in' underrated but I won't go far by saying Royce influenced him in a good way. I don't really think Em would've kept up with Recovery formula because everybody including myself was heavily disturbed by the f----- up female hooks and non-stop shouting with constant speeded flows. MMLP2 gave us various flows and deliveries as well as better hooks.
Dec 28, 2015 With Recovery i felt like Eminem had grown. Not what most people expected musically but it was a quality album nonetheless. He had s--- to talk about and it resulted in a great album. For me it is his best post hiatus album. MMLP2 was a step back. It just felt forced.
Dec 29, 2015 Sure, it would have been different. If he hadn't developed a drug addiction there would be no Encore, if he died of overdose there would be no Eminem today, if he grew up in a nice family he would be a business consultant. It's a butterfly effect, but what happened happened. Maybe he would have made something shittier than MMLP2.
Dec 30, 2015 I agree, but Royce problem is rapping no sense, he just say random s--- in a song.. and thats okay in freestyles and occasional songs. but this guy influenced Eminem to do songs that doesn't make sense too. Raw, All I think about, some songs in HTS and a number of songs in MMLP2. as much as I want Royce life to be awesome, but I wish he never united with Eminem. Anyways, I love MMLP2 and it is a classic
Dec 30, 2015 Don't ever hate on AITA, best song off southpaw soundtrack and 2nd best song of 2015 Eminem behind Medicine Man
Dec 30, 2015 There are some songs many people love, and I don't get them. but after a while I think they are really masterpieces. Like: 3 AM, Not Afraid and Scary movie. This song might be one, because everybody loves it. but what I listen to senseless random bragging and weird metaphors with choppy flow. and not fan of the beat. I just liked the turtles word play.
Dec 30, 2015 Nope i just hate Royce music He can't write songs he is a s-----y song writer, can't write or do hooks, can't write entertaining songs, can't write or perform a melody He's a rappity rapper all he execels at is rhyming bars great MC but s-----y artist So people have to remember any rapper i say i dislike their music it is based on them not being good song writers or making artisic music I am not impressed by MC-ing like that so i'm not a fan of Royce, Jay Z, Nas, Wu Tang, Canibus, Kool G Rap, Rakim thoiugh i can appreciate their high level of MC-ing, complexity and lyricisim Anyone i am a big fan of wether it is Eminem, B.o.B, 50 Cent, KId Cudi it is based on them being great song writers, melodic rappers and their all round ability for everything from melodic hooks to verses to entertaining songs
Dec 31, 2015 Interesting thought I suppose. Well for a start they would've never made the worst song on Recovery - Session One. Em woulda never signed Slaughterhouse, which wouldn't of been a loss at all. We would've never got h---: The Sequel, which apart from a couple of songs was pretty s---. We woulda never got the Freestyle show they made LOL. But on the other hand, we also wouldn't have got the Shady BET Cypher, which was f---ing incredible, and Em's great verse on Our House. I reckon D12 would've probably had another album by now if Royce/Slaughterhouse weren't around, mainly due to the fact that there is literally no one else around that Em has close contact with lol. 50 Cent might've not left Shady Records, and maybe Em coulda helped re-boost his music. However, despite there being quite a lot of bad material produced whenever Em's worked with Royce lately, he also seemed to lighten up and start having fun with stuff again. Lots of room for imagination at that question.
