Contemporary society is filled with different methods and substances that affects your dopamine system, whether its drugs, food, p--- or whatever. To a degree we're overstimulating ourselves at times, sucking our dopamine reserves dry. With this we're sort of in control of the reward system we're supposed to have for performing important survival tasks in a primitive nature setting.

But what if you were in 100% of control of your own dopamine distribution, and could regulate it down to the smallest decimal?

How would you do it? Would you keep a stable microdose, save it up for important tasks, or just spontaneously give yourself bursts whenever you feel like it?

It's adrenaline that puts your body in survival mode?

I mean i'd imagine back in the days getting a "rewarding" or a "high" from doing stuff that benefits your survival was quite common
I have a friend who gets a dopamine rush from drinking water
Adrenaline and stress hormones start the "fight or flight" mode, but also dopamine is actually a part of that as well

simply said, dopamine is what makes you feel good when you eat, have sex, exercise, etc.

adrenaline is more like an emergency reserve

lol I was joking, I wouldn’t mess w/ my testosterone levels; sacrificing important s--- just to get ripped is pointless to me when you can do it naturally w/ more satisfaction

If this was possible, hypothetically you could just get addicted to whatever you wanted

Release all your dopamine when you wake up & get that feel-good factor — no pain about early mornings now. Although the rest of your day might be s--- if you don’t get much pleasure from anything lol

Yea exactly. It's a fun thought experiment, you're more or less in charge of your primal happiness. But does it really help?

also like xzibit said, too much of anything can make you an addict

I can’t see it being very helpful in the grand scheme of things

I mean, regardless of what you do, you can get the same dopamine high — whether it’s taking a nap or going skydiving...you choose. Would take the fun out of certain activities

And for those with a slightly addictive personality (including myself), it would be a recipe for disaster

Would be cool to experience it for a week or so though
