    Answer is clearly, CLEARLY MJ.

    But I do think Kanye is the closest equivalent hip hop has ever had. He's the only rapper compared to Michael.

    Well, MJ was 100 times bigger than Kanye was at his peak. Only rapper I can think of is Eminem that might come close to him in terms of fame and success. As for music, I might say Drake have chance to be close. But anyway, MJ was something outta this World. Why do u think he's comparable to Mr. West ? West is a good producer, good artist and a wack rapper. MJ is the biggest icon that music industry had, a great dancer and singer.
